Lexington Betty Smokehouse, the BBQ food truck turned brick-and-mortar hotspot, opens its third location at the new Dr. Murphy’s Food Hall (1811 W. Harrison St.) on August 3, 2020. Helmed by married couple, Chef Dominique and Tanisha Leach, Lexington Betty Smokehouse offers a take on Chicago-style BBQ.

Influenced by the flavors and techniques of Central Texas and Memphis BBQ, the restaurant’s menu will feature its comfort food, smoked meats, and Chef Leach’s signature barbecue sauce inspired by Chicago’s mild sauce. Guests can expect favorites like Leach’s applewood smoked pork, smoked chicken, and brisket as well as corn bread muffins, candied yams, and macaroni. Focusing on a lunch-driven menu, rotating specials will cater towards the crowds visiting and working in the Illinois Medical District.

Dr. Murphy’s Food Hall is part of this building’s transformative $150 million renovation by Murphy Real Estate Services, which also includes a 210-room Hyatt House and Hyatt Place hotel, medical office space and a daycare center. The 10,000 sq. ft. food hall features a range of chef-driven vendors, an 800 sq. ft. outdoor patio, plus a bar and a lounge. The food hall is named in recognition of Dr. John B. Murphy, one of America’s pioneering surgeons through the turn of the last century who studied, interned and taught at Cook County Hospital.

To provide all with the utmost confidence in public dining after COVID-19, Dr. Murphy’s Food Hall offers spacious seating areas, modular tables, outdoor dining space, integrated online ordering technology and a designated takeout/pickup area, plus contactless pay opportunities and more.

Lexington Betty Smokehouse will be open from Sunday - Thursday (11am-9pm) and Friday & Saturday (11am - 10:30pm).
