It's taco time. In celebration of National Taco Day, Cantina Laredo in River North will offer a tasty taco special on Friday, October 4. Chef Daniel Espinoza's Taco de Alambre features grilled skirt steak, pineapple, bacon, pickled jalapeños, monterey jack cheese, red onion and chipotle aioli.
In addition to the special a la carte taco, Cantina Laredo's taqueria menu features carne asada, pollo y chicharron, barbacoa, tacos al pastor, pescado and beer-battered shrimp taco served on hand-made corn tortillas (three to an order).
Head to the modern Mexican restaurant during happy hour for discounted taco trios in the lounge from 3:30-6:30 p.m. (pollo y chicharron $7; carne asada $7.50; barbacoa $7.75; pescado $7.75), along with $5 imported brews, $6 glasses of house wine, $7 Casa 'Ritas and more.
