The Kitchen American Bistro

At The Kitchen American Bistro, Chef Michael Bertozzi is serving Grilled Oysters with brown butter, kabayaki and green onion ($17.50). The Kitchen’s oysters are lightly grilled and served warm with brown butter, kabayaki sauce (a sweet soy glaze usually seen on Japanese eel dishes) and topped with green onion. Chef Bertozzi recommends pairing them with an effervescent Txakoli that is bright, crisp, and a balance of sweet to complement the oysters and also has the acid to cleanse the palate of the rich brown butter.

Maple & Ash

The Graceful Ordinary

Executive Chef Chris Curren will be live-shucking fresh East & West coast oysters for 2 bucks a piece on The Graceful Ordinary's riverside terrace bar, with an assortment of optional accoutrements (including heaps of pearly caviar for $10). Wash it down with 1/2 off bottles of bubbly Charles-le-bel Inspiration 1818 champagne, or a cocktail designed for outdoor sipping, made exclusively for the occasion -- the Carte Blanc, a light, bright & herbal thrill, made with Grey Goose, vermouth, lillet blanc, lemon extract, and topped with a crisp cava.

Venteux

Venteux Brasserie, Cafe, and Oyster Bar plays host to a full seafood and raw bar complete with a selection of east and west coast oysters served by the half or full dozen. They offer oyster specials throughout the week, including $1 oysters during happy hour from 4pm-6pm on Wednesday-Saturday (a rare happy hour day), and all day Tuesday. Accompanied by the classics including mignonette, freshly-sliced lemon, and house made cocktail sauce, these oysters on the half shell pair with a glass of bubbles from Venteux’s sparkling wine list.

etta

etta’s NOD special running from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Both locations in Bucktown and River North are offering their signature rack roasted oysters fired with a tomato base and breadcrumb topper for $2 a piece. An interpretation of the summer classic that tastes more like Chicken Parm than briny ocean water, the team will set your savory shell atop a smokey shot of mezcal for an additional $8.
