El Che Steakhouse & Bar and La Sirena Clandestina are hosting their first ever Create-Your-Favorite Empanada contest this month and seeking guest submissions from Chicagoans.
With National Empanada Day coming up on April 8, they're on the hunt for guest submissions for Chicago's most creative and best tasting empanada filling. Chicagoans can submit their ideal empanada flavor through Monday, March 25.
The mastermind behind the winning empanada will receive dinner for two with wine pairings at El Che's Chef's Counter (a $500 value) and endless bragging rights. The winning empanada will be sold at both restaurants from National Empanada Day on April 8 through 30, and $1 from every empanada sold will be donated to the charity of their choice.
To determine the winner, Chef John Manion will chose his three favorite entries and then public voting will take place online from March 25-31, with the winner announced on April 1.
