Blanco Cocina + Cantina opens its first to market location this summer at Oakbrook Center. Part of Fox Restaurant Concepts, Blanco Cocina + Cantina offers a take on Sonoran-style Mexican food with an cocktail menu.
“Bringing my favorite Mexican food dishes to one of my favorite cities this summer is very exciting,” said Sam Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts. “Blanco is a place to sit back, relax, and raise a margarita to good times and good people, and we can’t wait to welcome in the Oak Brook community.”
Founded in Arizona, Blanco Cocina + Cantina serves regional dishes like Cheese Crisps and the Chimichanga. In fact, Blanco will offer Chimichangas with four different fillings: short rib machaca, braised chicken, ground beef or bean and cheese. The “Chimi” is deep fried and smothered in cheese, can be ordered enchilada-style covered in red ancho chile sauce, and is served alongside guac, sour cream, pico, and rice & beans.
Also available, Tiger Shrimp Fajitas with spicy garlic butter, Tacos on handmade corn tortillas (like Slow Cooked BBQ Pork with roasted corn slaw, pickled onion, crema fresca), and the Short Rib Machaca Cheese Crisp with guacamole & charred onion, to name a few.
The restaurant also offers a variety of beverages with a menu of house made cocktails. The Jalapeño & Pineapple Margarita with chile verde liqueur & habanero bitters, Frozen Palomas and Margaritas on tap, Oaxacan Shandy with pineapple, blood orange liqueur, ana maria tequila, Mexican beer & cilantro, and flights of Mezcal and Tequila are just a few examples.
The restaurant spans over 8,500 square feet and will feature a variety of indoor and outdoor space, along with several private dining room options. An airy and open dining room with a large center bar and murals adorning the walls.
Guests can make reservations starting August 10 by visiting BlancoCocinaCantina.com.
