Miracle, the Christmas pop-up bar launched in 2014 in New York City, will continue spreading holiday cheer this year at two Chicago locations. Through Christmas Eve, the two Chicago Miracle pop-up bar locations will offer seasonally-themed cocktails in a festive setting. The original location in New York City will return for its fourth year at Mace as Miracle on 9th Street, and Miracle owner Greg Boehm and manager Joann Spiegel are pleased to expand the concept to all corners of the US, including two here in Chicago, plus pop-ups in Canada, Europe, Asia, and Central America.

“Seeing the initial success of Miracle and the subsequent growth over the past several years has been an absolute thrill,” says manager Joann Spiegel. “We’re so pleased that bar-goers have taken a liking to our nostalgic idea of holiday cheer, and we’re very proud of both the cocktail line-up and the bar partners we have for the 2017 season.”

Spiegel, together with esteemed bartender Nico de Soto of Mace and Danico, have made spirits bright, creating the roster of Christmas concoctions served at all Miracle locations, from favorites such as the Snowball Old Fashioned (Gingerbread Bourbon, Wormwood Bitters, Lemon Zest) to newcomers including How The Gimlet Stole Christmas (Gin, Sage, Pine & Caraway Cordial) and the Run Run Rudolph (Blanco Tequila, Coffee Liqueur, Iced Hot Chocolate, Mexican Spices). All cocktails will be served in Cocktail Kingdom®’s custom Miracle glassware, from mugs to coupes, highballs and rocks glasses. New in 2017, select locations will have this glassware available for purchase with 10% of all sales donated to Action Against Hunger – making the perfect gift that keeps on giving. To complete the festive feel, each of the locations will deck their halls with lights, garlands, ribbons and tchotchkes inspired by nostalgic vintage Christmas decorations, with a soundtrack of holiday songs playing throughout the season.

The concept for Miracle was born four years ago, when upon the advice of his mother, Greg Boehm decided to halt construction of what was to be his new East Village cocktail bar called Mace and transformed the unfinished space into a pop-up bar serving holiday-themed drinks among festive décor. As crowds swarmed the NYC location, Boehm’s friends throughout the bar industry asked how they could recreate the holiday magic on their own turf and expansion became inevitable. The following year, Miracle expanded to 4 locations and in 2016, it went worldwide with pop-ups in Greece, Montreal and Paris. Now in 2017, Miracle has reached new holiday heights as an internationally recognized brand with over 50 locations.
