What to know about Mercadito to Open Second Location this Spring in Lincoln Park
Mercadito announces the upcoming opening of its second location in Lincoln Park this spring. The Lincoln Park restaurant will be helmed by Executive Chef Alexander Quintero, who brings years of leadership from his work with several Chicago restaurants including Toro Chicago by Chef Richard Sandoval and Aikana Chicago. Chef Quintero, born in Miami and raised in Costa Rica, brings a philosophy rooted in honoring Latin America’s diverse cultures, indigenous heritage, and natural bounties to Mercadito.
“What excites us most about opening our second location is welcoming a whole new audience to Mercadito, as well as continuing to embrace our loyal regulars,” said William McDavid, the restaurant’s Managing Partner. “Whether it’s inviting DePaul students to experience our brunch, or bringing the family down the street in for a memorable dinner, we want to fully immerse ourselves in the vibrant Lincoln Park community.”
Guests will be able to enjoy Mercadito staples such as short rib quesabirrias, queso fundido, and handmade guacamoles and ceviches. The restaurant will also bring its extensive variety of taco offerings to its all-day menus, featuring bites like butter-poached langosta, mushroom-medley hongos, ancho-rubbed pastor, and beer-battered baja. The menu will be further enhanced by large plates including chile relleno, enchiladas, pollo a las brasas, and Argentinian steak frites.
This new location will also offer Mercadito’s bottomless brunch, featuring unlimited cocktails for only $35 per person. Beverage options include endless margaritas, mimosas, amiga sandias, bloody Marys, and tecates.
Tacos 4 Strength, a charitable program in which guest chefs collaborate with Mercadito’s chefs to create limited-time-offer tacos for purchase, with proceeds benefitting the International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago, will expand to include the Lincoln Park location.
Mercadito Lincoln Park will officially open its doors this spring at 2423 N. Lincoln Avenue.
