Mercadito, (108 W. Kinzie St.), is highlighting three tequlias in a limited time flight to recognize the history and evolution of agave in celebration of National Tequila Day this Friday, July 24. For $15, the flight includes three one-ounce pours of each: Espolon Reposado, which is rested in lightly charred, new American oak barrels to create a more complex and well-rounded character; Codigo 1530 Rosa, which is rested for one month in uncharred Napa Valley Cabernet French White Oak wine barrels to produce a refined spirit with a natural color and enriched delicate botanical balance; and Herradura Ultra, which starts as a fine Anejo and filtered to enhance smoothness leaving subtle notes of cooked agave, caramel and honey with toasted almonds. The flight is available for guests to order indoors or on Mercadito's patio.
