Memorial Day Fundraiser at aliveOne

After the Memorial Day barbecues, patrons can head to aliveOne at 5 p.m. for half-off all beer and cocktails from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. along with all night specials like $2 Miller High Life bottles and $8 Star Spangled cocktails (Crown Royal, Yellow Chartreuse, fresh lemon juice, orange bitters). aliveOne will donate $1 from every Star Spangled cocktail sold to the Wounded Warrior Project. aliveOne will also offer FREE pool all night and free trivia that begins at 8 p.m.

Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization that serves to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women; help severely injured service members aid and assist each other; and provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.

Memorial Day Weekend Opening Party at Castaways on North Avenue Beach

Castaways, on North Avenue Beach, will open to the public this Memorial Day weekend. To kick off the summer, Castaways will host a Girls of Summer Concert Series ft. Ally Brooke at 12 p.m. followed by a KISS-FM live broadcast from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m on Saturday, May 25. Entertainment will be provided by The DJ Firm from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday through Monday. While taking in the Lake Michigan scenery from the roof deck, guests can cool off with a menu of tropical cocktails and “Frozen Sensations” that give serious beach vibes like a Mango Margarita, Pina Colada, Absolut & Lemonade and Strawberry Daiquiri. Lunch and dinner are served daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (weather permitting) featuring items like fresh salads, wraps, sandwiches, quesadillas, nachos and more..

Castaways offers cabanas for rent daily through Labor Day from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. ($1500 F&B minimum). The two cabanas are located on the North end of the Castaways upper deck with a capacity of 10 to 12 people (max) each.

EASY BAR

Cheesy Fest and Memorial Day Happy Hour at Easy Bar
Easy Bar will kick off the summer with their annual Cheesy Fest on Sunday, May 26 followed by a Memorial Day Happy Hour on Monday, May 27. Guests can enjoy drinks throughout the weekend on Easy Bar’s dog-friendly sidewalk patio with seating for 15 to 20 guests.

Easy Bar has partnered with Hopewell Brewing, Seattle Cider and 4 Hands Brewing to host their annual Cheesy Fest. DJs will take cheeseball requests all night and none of the guilty pleasure, one hit wonder, pop chart-topping requests will be denied. Guests will enjoys specials from Seattle Cider, 4 Hands and Hopewell, $2 High Life and $5 Green Chartreuse shots.

Easy Bar will open at  5 p.m. on Memorial Day with Half-Price Everything Happy Hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (excluding shots). All night specials include $6 glasses of wine, $2 PBR, and Tecate with a Jimador tequila shot for $6.

Memorial Day Half-Price Burgers at Estelle’s

For Chicagoans looking for a casual spot to wind down after Memorial Day weekend, Estelle’s will open at 10 p.m. on Monday, May 27. Estelle’s new spring cocktail, “F**K Your Patio”, will be on special for $8 featuring Apologue Aronia, Finn's Gin, demerara and lemon juice. Additional specials will include a $3.50 rotating draft, $4 Fernet Branca shots and half-price burgers all evening.

Half-price burger selections (normally $10 to $12) include the Patty Melt (Swiss cheese and grilled onions served on Texas Toast), Surfer Rosa Burger (portobello, Swiss, red pepper), Blue Velvet Burger (blue cheese, bacon, grilled onions), Roadhouse Burger (spinach, roasted red peppers, black beans) and the Point Break Burger (pepper jack, grilled jalapenos, guacamole).

Memorial Day Weekend Bottomless Brunch at Hubbard Inn

On Sunday, May 26, Hubbard Inn will host a $20 Memorial Day weekend bottomless brunch featuring a choice of mimosas, bloody mary's, or rosé with the purchase of a brunch entree (90-minute limit on bottomless drinks). Brunch entree selections include Southern Fried Chicken and Malted Waffles (seasoned and confit chicken, vanilla malted waffle, bacon maple jus), Steak and Eggs (chimichurri marinated 8-ounce skirt steak, eggs your way, breakfast potatoes), Peppercorn Pastrami Hash (smoked peppercorn pastrami, fingerling potatoes, calabran vinaigrette, fine herbs, pickled fresno, poached hen egg) and more.

Memorial Day Weekend Live Music and New Brunch at HVAC Pub

HVAC Pub in Wrigleyville will host a full day of live music on Sunday, May 26, including a family-friendly country show for kids (complete lineup is below). Patriotic drink specials will include HVAC’s lemonade stand serving up vodka lemonades, Lynchburg lemonades and other flavored lemonades ($12 for 16 ounce; $20 for 32 ounce; $40 for 72 ounce pitcher) as well as $8 Apple Pie and Bomb Pop shots (blue curacao, lemonade, vodka).

Guests can also enjoy HVAC’s new Sunday brunch menu available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Highlights include a Loaded Breakfast Pizza Slice (scrambled egg, pulled chicken, bacon, cheddar, mozzarella, garlic butter; $8), Chicken and Waffles with bourbon syrup ($12), Veggie Hash Brown Skillet (hash browns, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms; $8 | add scrambled or fried egg + $3) and more. Brunch drinks will include HVAC Bloody Marys like War Pigs (bacon-infused bourbon, garnished with bacon and a mini burger; $14), Santeria (tequila bloody mary, garnished with mini quesadilla and pico de gallo *spicy), a Wake the Dead Cold Brew Cocktail (Bernality Cold Brew Coffee, Van Gogh Double Espresso Vodka; $13) and a $65 Champagne Tower (serves up to 8 guests with choice of rosé or mimosa flavors like orange, strawberry, grapefruit, raspberry or peach).

This Memorial Day weekend, Joy District will kickoff to their new “Sun-kissed Sundays” on Sunday, May 26 at 1 p.m., a weekly Sunday Funday Rooftop Party. The party will feature frozen cocktails for $14 each including a Frozé (rosé, Hangar One Rosé Vodka, strawberry puree), Casamigos Margarita (rotating flavors) and Spray Tan (Red Bull Orange, mango puree, Cruzan Strawberry Rum) as well as bottle service.

Guests who visit Weber Grill Restaurant in Chicago, Lombard or Schaumburg on Monday, May 27 will enjoy an $8 burger special available all day. The burger (normally $12.50) features grilled all-natural ground beef, lettuce, tomato, onion and cheddar cheese on a toasted sesame bun. Guests can pair their burgers with a Weber Backyard Brew (16-ounce golden ale), available for just $5 when enjoyed in the bar area only.
