Meatball Eating Competition at Bar Roma

How many meatballs can you consume? In celebration of National Meatball Day, Bar Roma will hold a meatball eating competition on Monday, March 9. Starting at 7 p.m., participants will be challenged to eat as many manzo (beef) meatballs as they can in three and a half minutes. The winner will receive a $100 cash prize, along with dining gift cards, wine, Bar Roma merchandise and more. The entry fee is $20 per person. To reserve your spot, call Bar Roma at 773-942-7572.

Guests and spectators may arrive early for half-priced meatballs during happy hour from 5-6:30 p.m. Chef Fred Ramos' polpette selections include manzo (ground beef and braised beef cheeks), pollo (chicken, pistachio and caramelized onions), maiale (spicy barbecue pork belly) and verdura ("impossible" meat-free meatballs made with lentils and spinach).
