Maya-Camille Broussard to Hold Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Justice of the Pies Retail Space

Maya-Camille Broussard, the owner of the satellite bakery, Justice of the Pies, will be hosting a ribbon cutting to celebrate the official grounding of her first Justice of the Pies retail storefront on Wednesday April 12 at 11 AM CT in Chicago, Illinois. The new bakery will be located in the Avalon neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side and will officially open Spring 2023. Designed by Chicago-based Future Firm, the Justice of the Pies flagship will open in the building that formerly housed Broussard’s mother’s childhood dentist office. Built in 1956, the building has many mid-century details that Future Firm worked to retain. The design choices also considered people with disabilities as there are many elements throughout the space that focus on accessibility, a detail that is important to Broussard who is a member of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community.
