Coming Soon Puerto Rican Avondale

Industry vets, Eric Roldan and Hector LaPorte have decided to make their dream a reality when it comes to modern Puerto Rican food along with new Latin fusion flavors. On March 31st, they will open a virtual modern cafe with delivery and pick up only features, called Marina’s Café - located on the Northside of Chicago in the Avondale neighborhood.

Eric who was born in Chicago but raised in Puerto Rico working in the hospitality industry for most of his career had a love for cooking with his grandmother's recipes from a young age. After the passing of his mother, he wanted to honor her by naming the new cafe after her. Food is something that brought his family and friends together no matter the occasion. As a Latino and a minority, he is looking forward to bringing his family traditions, recipes, and proof that anything is possible when you dream big.

Hector, a trained chef and military serviceman, got his training from his mother and grandmother. He has opened and operated in over 25 different restaurants across the Chicagoland area including Nando’s, Frontera, and Rivers Casino. Hector loves creating and designing new flavors with his classic Puerto Rican cooking skills to bring new dishes to everyone he serves.

Marina’s Cafe is located in Avondale and is connected to delivery apps like Grubhub, Caviar, UberEats, and more. They plan to offer catering services as well.
