Luna’s Pub & Grill will host a series of summer events at Northwestern University’s Norris University Center, located at 1999 Campus Drive in Evanston. Programming will include outdoor film screenings, live music, and weekly brunch service on Cohen Lawn along Lake Michigan.
The Summer Cinema series will feature outdoor movie screenings open to the public. Activities including entertainment and giveaways will precede each screening, with food available for purchase on-site. Films scheduled for July include WALL-E on July 16, Turning Red on July 23, and Mulan on July 30. Screenings will begin at dusk following evening check-in.
In August, the venue will introduce “Lunch on the Lake,” a weekday program combining live music and midday dining. Scheduled performances include saxophonist Skinny Williams on August 5 and the Nikki O’Neill Trio on August 12. Performances will take place from noon to 1:15 p.m.
Luna’s will also continue its Sunday brunch service from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Menu items include French toast sticks, donut holes, brisket hash, grain and corn salads, and a fried chicken sandwich.
“Luna’s was designed as a connected, community destination, with the patio, pavilion and lawn flowing naturally into the pub itself,” said Byron Williams, vice president of operations for Chartwells Higher Education Dining. “Movie nights, live performances on Cohen Lawn and other seasonal activities add to the experience. Our goal is to create a gathering place for students, visitors and Chicagoland residents throughout the year.”
