Special Events Creole / Cajun / Southern Seafood Wrigleyville

Lowcountry wants you to turn up the heat and test your limits by participating in a spicy food challenge featuring its heat level 5, off-the-menu hot sauce.  The level 5 is the hottest among the array of Gulf Coast-style sauces at the boil-in-a-bag seafood destination and on Saturday, July 29 participants will prove how much heat they can take.

Brave heat-seekers will be given 30 minutes to devour two pounds of shrimp, corn, and potatoes, all smothered in sweat inducing level 5 sauce. Participants* must remain seated for the duration of the contest and will be allowed to hydrate throughout.  Attendees can watch as daring souls dig into shrimp – headless or head on – while their fingers and mouths feel the burn from copious amounts of chili peppers.  It’s a good old fashioned hot shrimp eating contest!

In addition to bragging rights, champions will receive t-shirts and their photos will be plastered on Lowcountry’s Wall of Fame.  See how high you can climb on the Scoville scale and find out if you have what it takes to beat the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) hot sauce!  Participants will be required to sign waivers.

To sign up for this level 5 shrimp eating contest, RSVP on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1940820746186471/permalink/1940835662851646/

Participants must purchase two pounds of shrimp ($32-36) with corn ($2) and potatoes ($2). Market price varies.

*Must be at least 18 years old to participate
