Brunch Asian Evanston

Koi Fine Asian Cuisine and Lounge in downtown Evanston has recently launched weekend brunch. On Saturdays and Sundays, dining guests may enjoy the new Dim Sum Brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. This style of service is modeled after yum cha, the Chinese tradition of social gatherings with family and friends at a tea house.

The dim sum menu features traditional recipes derived from eight different regions of Southern China. A substantial 35 menu selections include BBQ pork buns, red bean sesame balls, shrimp rice rolls, beef short ribs, congee with fish and veggies, scallion pancakes, Shanghai rice cake, pork belly and Peking duck bao, Koi fried rice, spicy jelly fish, crispy chicken dumplings, Chinese crullers, egg tart, and more.

Koi suggests pairing brunch dishes with either tea or cocktails. Organic teas range from Pu-Erh (bitter chocolate, stone fruit and sweet soil) and Genmaicha (green tea blend with roasted rice) to Harvest Cran Apple (naturally caffeine free) and Serene Dream (botanicals and aromatic flowers). Specialty libations include a Hot Sake Toti (sake, whiskey, ginger syrup, lime juice, honey), Dragonfly Martini (vodka, pineapple juice, ginger, lime juice), Asian Mojito (rum, sweet ginger syrup, lime juice, mint leaves), Lychee Martini (vodka and lychee juice), and Shanghai Sunset (sake, Bombay Sapphire, orange juice, grenadine float and cherry garnish), among other drinks. Bubbly, sake, wine, beer and mocktails are also available.
