Katherine Anne Confections is celebrating its 20th anniversary throughout October with tastings, collaborations, special offers and an anniversary party at its Irving Park location. The month will also include a 20-year confection collection featuring bestsellers, past seasonal items, new chef collaborations and a confection designed with input from customers.
The anniversary party will take place Saturday, Oct. 24 from 4 to 10 p.m. at the Irving Park shop. Guests can sample 20 different confections along with wine and savory dishes, while Smoque BBQ will roast porchetta outside. The menu will also include housemade sides and a special beer created with Begyle Brewing, along with a nonalcoholic cocktail. A firepit will be available for making s’mores, and the Katherine Anne Confections pastry team will serve an anniversary cake at 8 p.m. Family programming from 4 to 6 p.m. will include face painting and balloon animals. Tickets are $50 per person.
Additional events begin Oct. 8 at the Logan Square shop with a tasting led by Ecuadorian, woman-owned Conexion Chocolate. The session will explore single-origin Ecuadorian cacao through cocoa nibs, beans and several styles of chocolate. On Oct. 16, Katherine Anne Confections will join Begyle Brewing at its taproom for the release of their collaborative beer and s’mores. Logan Square will host a complimentary drinking chocolate tasting bar on Oct. 17 and complimentary s’more toasting on Oct. 25.
Anniversary Week runs Oct. 19–25 and will include five caramels for $1, recreating the price founder Katherine Duncan used when she began selling caramels at her father’s workplace at age 12. Guests at the Irving Park shop will also be able to spin a prize wheel for items including truffles, caramels and T-shirts.
