The James Beard Foundation has announced its fourth annual Taste America national epicurean tour, visiting ten American cities, including Chicago. Chicago’s weekend long celebration kicks off on Friday, October 14, 2016 at LondonHouse Chicago with A Night of Culinary Stars, an exclusive dining event benefiting the James Beard Foundation. The evening begins with a reception of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from local chefs and restaurateurs, including Abe Conlon (Fat Rice, Chicago), Sarah Grueneberg (Monteverde, Chicago), Perry Hendrix (avec, Chicago), Jacob Verstegen (LondonHouse Chicago), and Lee Wolen (BOKA, Chicago). Afterwards, guests will be seated for a four-course dinner prepared by James Beard Award Semifinalist and Taste America All-Star Missy Robbins (Lilia, Brooklyn) along with James Beard Award Winner and Local Star Chef Jimmy Bannos, Jr. (The Purple Pig, Chicago), Pastry Chef Aya Fukai (Maple & Ash, Chicago), and Host Chef Jacob Verstegen (LondonHouse Chicago). James Beard Award Winner Donnie Madia Gianfrancisco (One Off Hospitality Group) will serve as guest emcee.
