James Beard Eats Week is a week of dining devoted to the celebration and recognition of James Beard himself. During James Beard Eats Week, Chicago’s best restaurants created James Beard-inspired dishes to celebrate the 26th Annual James Beard Awards in Chicago on Monday, May 2, 2016. The European inspired patisserie and cafe will be one of the places participating in James Beard Eats week by offering a Blood Orange Meringue Tart inspired by James Beard. Anyone who dines at Toni Patisserie & Café from April 22 - May 2, 2016 can order the James Beard inspired menu item, featuring the Blood Orange Meringue Tart.

Fabulous Freddies Italian Eatery

Even though the James Beard Awards’ main event doesn’t happen until May 2, Chicagoans can enjoy one of two James Beard inspired eats at Fabulous Freddies from April 22 - May 2. The inspired menu items are dedicated to James Beard’s message of good food, prepared with fresh, wholesome, American ingredients. The menu will feature a Pot Roast Sandwich served with Chips for $9.95 or Pot Roast Cheese Fries for $5.95.

Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant

James Beard inspires Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants menu with a special addition, Braised Berkshire Pork Osso Bucco with crimini mushrooms, braised fennel, asparagus, fingerling potatoes, and ancho broth. The James Beard inspired dishes will highlight the chef’s appreciation for local farms and local ingredients.
