Highlights: International Firefighter's Day Specials in Chicago

On International Firefighter's Day, area restaurants will pay tribute to the dedicated men and women that serve our city. Timothy O'Toole's Pub in Streeterville will offer a free menu item to all firefighters on Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m. 'til late night, 2:30 a.m. This offer includes any dish on Chef Corey Grupe's pub menu up to $12, such as boneless hot wings, Lagunitas IPA chicken tacos, Chicago-style hot dog and fries, cheesy buffalo chicken egg rolls, Irish nachos, soups, chili, salads and more.

The Chicago Firehouse restaurant, housed in a historic landmark building once home to Engine Company 104, will offer heroes of the Chicago Fire Department buy-one, get-one free entrees on May 4 from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. The South Loop steakhouse's dinner menu features an array of local items (braised short ribs; lobster puttanesca; 18 oz double-cut Berkshire pork chop), surf (sea scallops and apple-brined pork belly; roasted whole dover sole; 8 oz lobster tail), and turf (center cut filet mignon, 16 oz New York strip; 20 oz dry-aged bone-in ribeye).
