What began as a tavern on Chicago’s Southside in 1923and officially serving its signature crispy crust since the early 1940’s, Home Run Inn has now ventured deeper into its almost 80-year old tavern-style roots with the launch of its first-ever Home Run Inn Pan Pizza, now available in all Chicagoland Jewel stores and Tonys Fresh Market locations.
The flavor of the original tavern-style is in the new Pan Pizza, featuring Home Run Inn’s crust, just thicker, and generously loaded with freshly sliced mozzarella and signature tomato sauce, blended with a secret family recipe. The Pan Pizza is available in five 9-inch varieties - Cheese, Sausage, Sausage Pepperoni, Meat Lovers and Pepperoni.
“We’re proud to introduce Pan Pizza to the Home Run Inn frozen pizza lineup while staying true to the quality, flavor, and tradition that have defined our brand for nearly 80 years,” said Dan Costello, Home Run Inn CEO and fourth-generation family member. “Made from scratch just like our original tavern-style pizza, with all-natural ingredients, our new Pan Pizza offers customers another delicious way to enjoy the Home Run Inn flavor they know and love, now with a thicker crust.”
To kick-off the new Pan Pizza, Home Run Inn Restaurants will host “Free Pizza Fridays” every Friday throughout the month of November, where the purchase of any extra-large (XL) cheese or sausage pizza for dine-in or carryout includes a free frozen Home Run Inn pan pizza (one per order).
