The team behind HOLU, an Asian steakhouse and seafood restaurant in Chicago’s Chinatown neighborhood (2101 S. Jefferson St.), has announced plans for an expansion and redesign early 2024.

In addition to a dining room, guests will take in a newly added Sushi & Omakase Bar, a Meat Bar, a Wine & Cocktail Bar, a private dining room and a serene outdoor terrace. Once complete, HOLU will include almost 200 seats (nearly double its current capacity).

“We have something quite different than what you will find at a traditional steakhouse,” said Founder Jason Song. “It is important to us to continue building upon our vision of elevated, interactive dining. We look forward to revealing rich new spaces that allow for even more experiences to come to life for our guests.”

An additional 80 seats will come from an 1,000 square foot outdoor terrace that opens summer 2024.

HOLU will reveal its new indoor spaces spring 2024, with the outdoor oasis opening summer 2024.

The restaurant will remain open for full dinner service as the project is completed in phases.
