Solita Tacos & Margaritas

A Halloween pop up has arrived at Solita Tacos & Margaritas from now until Friday, Nov. 3. From the moment diners begin to head upstairs, walking under an entryway of neon balloons, the restaurant’s second floor went all out with decorations, while dining in the dark, surrounded by eerie lighting, glowing objects and Frida Kahlo-inspired murals.

The $15 ticket will provide diners a welcome margarita and the restaurant’s housemade salsa and chips, while Solita's full menu will be available, including their signature Vampiro Taco made with a double tortilla that's held together with melted cheese. Off-menu items will also be included for ticket holders such as the Spooky Scary Skeleton margarita pitcher for the table, serving four ($43 for Hour and $50 for watermelon) to set the theme for the night. 

Glow-in-the-dark outfits preferred. Come in colors that glow under a black light. Tickets can be purchased on OpenTable.

Schaumburg Halloween Carnival

The 2nd-Annual Schaumburg Halloween Carnival invites Chicagoland to experience two full weekends of spooky rides, House of Creeps haunted house, treats, trick-or-treating, seasonally themed arts and crafts, a VIP, Very Insane Person bar/lounge, live music, and more. Entrance to the carnival is free for all attendees, and parking is $5.

The Schaumburg Halloween carnival will be open for two weekends, October 20 – 22 and October 27 – 29, 2023. 

Foodies attending the Halloween carnival can indulge in seasonal treats, including popcorn, cotton candy, caramel apples, corn dogs, hot dogs, polish sausage, nachos, and funnel cakes with a variety of toppings. Additionally, Hell’s BBQ restaurant and Rainbow Cone will be onsite serving savory and sweet treats both weekends. The carnival will also host a standard plaza bar, serving beer and seltzers for those 21+ years and older.

Broken Shaker at Freehand Chicago

Federales

The Zombie Apocalypse Halloween party at Federales Logan Square is on the Saturday of Halloweekend on 10/28. The Logan Square restaurant and bar is transforming into a post-apocalyptic scene with a $35 ticket that gets you in the door and access to all call drinks, draft beers and chips and salsa from 7 – 9 PM.

Rizzo’s Bar and Inn

The theme of this year's experience at Rizzo’s Bar and Inn is “Sweet Dreams”. From October 13th - October 31st, guests will have the chance to see over 20 classic horror movies all collide. Freddy, Jason, Pennywise, Leatherface, and more.

They also have a Halloween cocktail menu with items such as:

To kick off Halloween weekend, aliveOne in Lincoln Park will host their 4th Annual Halloween live music showcase in the Back Room on Friday, October 27 at 9 p.m. (doors open at 8 p.m.). There is no cover charge and featured local bands will include Turn N Fire, Nice Motor, and Anything is Everything covering music like Pink Floyd, Lady Gaga and Dave Grohl. The event is 21 and over and costumes are encouraged. 

B.A.S.H. Burger and Sushi House

Guests who visit Burger and Sushi House (B.A.S.H.) in Geneva for dinner on Halloween night and spend $50 will receive a free order of Crab Rangoon or Spring Rolls. The special is available for dine-in or to-go. 

Central Park Bar

In celebration of their two-year anniversary this October, Central Park Bar in Avondale will host a Halloween costume party on Thursday, October 26 beginning at 4 p.m. on the patio. Guests can kick off the festivities starting with a half-price happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and are encouraged to dress up in Halloween attire. Starting at 9 p.m., Emo Night will take over featuring all the emo music classics, Ghost Tequila drink specials, and DJ Brian Buckley spinning jams. There will be prizes for best Halloween costume, and bites will also be available from the Gilty Pig food truck. 

Cody's Public House

Cody’s Public House will host a Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest for dogs and their owners. The contest will kick off at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 29. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best Doggy Costume ($100) and Best Dog + Human Combo Costume ($200). There will be raffles benefiting Second City Canine Rescue, free pup cups and free dog swag. Drink specials will include $5 Lagunitas Pints, $5 Best Buds Brews (non-alcoholic craft brew for dogs), $6 Tito's Cocktails and Cody’s Pup-Tail Menu. Guests are invited to stick around for the Bears vs Chargers game at 7:20 p.m. 

Easy Bar

Easy Bar invites Chicagoans to get in the Halloween spirit with a pumpkin carving contest on Monday, October 30 at 7 p.m. New Belgium will supply free pumpkins that are already scooped out and carving tools for cutting and decorating while patrons get creative. New Belgium swag bags will be given out for the “best pumpkin”, “most creative” and “the ugliest”. Pumpkins are first-come, first-served and only available while supplies last. Guests will be offered a New Belgium beer sampling and Easy Bar’s Monday specials like $4 Montucky Cold Snacks, $5 Espolón Blanco Shots, $5 Underbergs, and $9 beer and shot combos. Those who arrive early can kick off the evening with half-price happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Estelle's

Estelle’s will have two Halloween-themed events this October including a Halloween Tie Dye Party and Costume Party. 

Halloween Tie Dye Party

  • Thursday, October 26 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

For $25 per person, guests will get an official white Estelle's t-shirt, supplies and will receive assistance from staff at designing shirts with special patterns. 

Costume Party

  • Saturday, October 28 beginning at 10 p.m.

Remedy

To kick off the spooky season, guests can join Remedy in Bucktown for scary movie nights every Wednesday throughout October. They’ll also host a Pumpkin Carving Contest, a Halloween-themed Drag Show, and a Halloween Party with a costume contest.

Sweet Mandy B's

To celebrate Halloween, Sweet Mandy B’s in Lincoln Park and Streeterville will offer festive treats available from Thursday, October 19 through Tuesday, October 31 (limited quantities of all items available). Guests will be offered items like Ghost Cut-out Cookies, Iced Rice Krispies, Furry Monster Brownies, Graveyard Brownies, Bloody Red Velvet Cupcakes, Mummy Cupcakes, and a six pack of decorated cupcakes (decoration will vary). A decorated ghost cake will also be available via custom order and limited in-store quantity.

Guests can also select seasonal items throughout the month of October like Sweet Mandy B’s famous Pumpkin Cupcakes, Pumpkin Meringue pie, individual Pumpkin Cheesecakes, Pumpkin Apple Muffins, Pumpkin Whoopie Pie, Pumpkin Bread, Pumpkin Pie, and more. 

The Graystone Tavern

The Graystone Tavern in Wrigleyville will host a Vikings-themed Halloween party on Sunday, October 29. A Minnesota Vikings-affiliated bar, Graystone will broadcast the game vs the Packers at 12 p.m., and guests who dress up in their best viking costume will receive a free Skol Bomb (Three Olives Grape with Red Bull Blue edition).

There will be a viking costume contest with the winner receiving a $200 Graystone gift card as well as game day raffles. Drink specials will include $5 Skol Bombs, $6 Surly Drafts, $6 Goose Island Drafts and $20 Domestic Buckets. 

The Owl

The Owl in Logan Square will host a Halloween Costume Party on Saturday, October 28 until 5 a.m. and Tuesday, October 31 until 4 a.m. Party-goers can use a free photobooth from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., costume contest and DJ all night. 

The Rambler Kitchen + Tap

The Rambler Kitchen + Tap in North Center will host a Monster Bash Party on Saturday, October 28 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. For $40 per person, guests can select liquor, seltzers, full cocktail menu, house wines, drafts, import and domestic beer, and a nacho bar. There will be a costume contest with the best solo costume winning $100 and the best group costume (2 to 6 people) winning $200.

Ascend to the Cabra rooftop for the return of Drag Brunch, "Scream Queens" edition on Saturday, October 28th. Queen Athena Seraphina and her crew will be performing plus Cabra is brewing up a Mimosa special just for the occasion. Entry is $15 and tickets be purchased on OpenTable.

The Izakaya at Momotaro

The Izakaya is back on October 28th at 7pm with their annual Halloween party, and this year’s theme is Haunted Cinema. Step into The Izakaya’s subterranean hideaway for a world of vintage horror movies. The space will transform into an underground haunted cinema with sweets and crafted cocktails, plus all-night beats from DJ Stryfe. In celebration of the spooky season, the team is transforming its space into the Emerald City for "No Place Like Home", a Wizard of Oz-themed costume party. The action starts at 5 p.m. with an optional open bar cocktail hour and passed hors d'oeuvres, followed by a four-course dinner by Executive Chef Chris Curren. Won Kim - executive chef/partner at Kimski and partner at Lilac Tiger - is hosting and curating his annual “Boo Ha-Ha: The Awakening” Halloween beer party from 1pm to 6pm on Saturday, October 28 at Chop Shop in Wicker Park (2033 W North Ave).

KOMO

This Halloween weekend, patrons are invited to KOMO for ‘Highball Halloween’ a celebration of Japanese whisky excellence. A selection from five distilleries crafted into highballs, all at a 50% discount, all week long. Lincoln Park Spooktacular

The Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce announces the return of Spooktacular 2023 presented by LPCC, Lincoln Avenue Special Service Area #35, and Clark Street Special Service Area #23. The trick-or-treat experience will take place on Saturday, October 28 along Lincoln Avenue from Wrightwood to Webster from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm and Sunday, October 29 along Clark Street from Diversey to Armitage from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. During Spooktacular 2023, Lincoln Park businesses along Lincoln Avenue and Clark Street will transform into trick-or-treat stops for families to visit and celebrate Halloween. During both events, select restaurants along Lincoln Ave and Clark Street will feature special fall-themed promos for those who participate in Spooktacular. On Saturday, families are invited to stop by Lincoln Common at 2335 N. Lincoln for face painting, caricature artists, 360 photo cam, live mobile DJ and a Dog Costume Contest with Scout Veterinary Care. Spooktacular 2023 is free for children and families to enjoy. Carnivale

Carnivale, is getting the party started for Halloween on Sunday, October 29th with a Monster Mash Brunch from 10 am - 3 pm. Diners can dress up in their most creative Halloween costume for their reservation and Carnivale will "treat" the adults to a free mimosa, or a handspun cotton candy for the little ones. To celebrate Dia de Los Muertos on Wednesday, November 1, the Latin spot will have performances from 6-7 pm and 8-9 pm to enjoy in the main dining room along with photo opportunities in their newly-renovated Rumba Lounge. Chicago Waffles’ four locations present their Pumpkin Waffle for $13.49, through November 30. The waffle is available at their four locations: Willowbrook (10S642 Kingery Hwy), Oak Park (726 Lake St.), West Loop (1104 W. Madison St.) and South Loop (1400 S. Michigan Ave). 

Thorn Restaurant & Lounge

Thorn Restaurant & Lounge is prepping palates for Halloween with a Prisoner Wine Dinner on Friday, October 27 at 6:30 p.m. featuring The Prisoner Wine Company. This two-hour experience will feature Thorn’s Executive Chef Nicholas Malloy’s four-course menu that will be complemented by Prisoner’s wine pairings, led by a Prisoner Wine Sommelier. 

"We are thrilled to bring back this sold-out event with The Prisoner Wine Company this fall," said Executive Chef Nicholas Malloy. "This evening allows us to be creative with our offerings and really take attendees on a mouthwatering journey through dining and imbibing, and we can’t wait to see this year’s turnout as we celebrate the Halloween season!” 

The Prisoner Wine Dinner will begin with a cocktail hour with an Unshackled Rosé paired with a light burrata toast. Guests will then be led to their seats to officially start the evening, featuring an Unshackled Sauvignon Blanc, with notes of tropical fruits and fresh citrus, paired with a Goat Cheese Salad; frisée, fried goat cheese crouton, pancetta, apples, walnuts, and a mustard vinaigrette. Patrons will then enjoy a Saldo Chenin Blanc, complemented with a Surf & Turf Bao Bun; seared scallops, smoked pork belly, avocado, orange miso cream, shiso greens, and sesame seeds. Guests will then move onto the third course where their sommelier will lead them through a Prisoner Pinot Noir, with a 12-hour Duck Confit, manchego polenta, tahini tossed asparagus, sweet potato chip, and a cherry gastrique. The evening will end with sweet tastes, pairing a Prisoner Red Blend, with a Crème Brûlée, a red wine glaze and topped with fresh blackberries.

Mordecai

Mordecai hosts a wine tasting inspired by the Rocky Horror Picture Show. The event features seven wines paired with songs from the soundtrack, such as Las Jaras 2022 “Big, Buff, & Beautiful” Albariño matched to “I Can Make You a Man”. Wine director, Brandon Randles, and guest wine expert, Danielle Norris will be on hand to guide you.

Tickets for the Rocky Horror Wine Tasting Event are $30 per person and can be purchased via Tock.

Ina Mae Tavern

Ina Mae Tavern’s Halloween pop-up, “Voodoo Lounge,” is back with a month-long lineup of events. Ina Mae will be transformed into a Halloween pop-up, where hanging skeletons, spider webs, bats, and more. 

From Voodoo Bingo and $10 Halloween cocktails, to a Friday the Thirteenth themed drag show and a NOLA tradition jazz funeral, there will be a new event or special happening at Ina Mae every day of the week.

Arbella

Arbella's Halloween cocktails will be available Wednesday, 10.25 through Tuesday, 10.31. Guests can sip on:

  • THE DEAD RABBIT - Conejos Mezcal, Cynar, Raspberry, Hibiscus, Rabbit Ashes (activated charcoal), Ghost Ectoplasm (egg white) served in a coup glass
  • BLUMPKIN - a shot of 1800 Cristalino Tequila, Pumpkin Purée, Allspice Dram, Vanilla-cinnamon Syrup

Talbott Cucina

Talbott Cucina, the restaurant inside The Talbott Hotel, will have a Halloween cocktail special available on October 31st only. The cocktail, Grey Matter, is crafted with Libelula tequila, orange, blackberry, torched lime, black Hawaiian salt for $16. 

In partnership with Pups Pet Club, Talbott Cucina will host a special happy hour from 4pm-6pm on Monday, 10.30. Locals are invited to bring their dogs in costume for Halloween and with ongoing happy hour specials. The team will extend a 20% off locals discount to all attendees for food & beverage (excluding alcohol).

Untitled Supper Club

Untitled Supper Club is hosting their Wicked Wonderland Unbridled on Thursday October 26 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. The Alice in Wonderland-themed burlesque will take attendees spiraling down the rabbit hole with three rooms of larger-than-life immersive installations, multiple DJs and 20+ performances throughout the evening. Tabú

Tabú is throwing party for La Noche de Las Brujas on October 28. The party is completely free and takes place from 10 p.m. to close featuring live DJs, Mezcal tequilas and new menu specials from Executive Chef Alexander Quintero. 

Recess

Recess is celebrating Halloween by throwing a 30 year anniversary party of The Nightmare Before Christmas on October 27. Attendees will get to step into an eerie world with interactive installations, drink specials inspired by the movie, beats from the Recess DJ and a costume contest. Kimpton Gray Hotel and Marz Community Brewing Co.

Marz Community Brewing Co. is presenting an evening of supernatural celebration at the Haunted Marz Motel, located in Kimpton Gray Hotel lobby and bar, Vol. 39. The Haunted Marz Hotel is a fictional motel storied to have once been owned by Marz Community Brewing Co. that will be teleported to the Kimpton Gray Hotel for one evening of mischief. 

On Thursday, October 19 from 6-10 PM, guests will experience an evening filled with festive cocktails at Vol. 39, tarot readings, aura photography, and a live electronic musical performance by Mr 666. The Haunted Marz Motel will also serve complimentary tastes of "Marz Room Service," a collaboration beer made special for The Gray. While sipping, guests can browse the Arts Market featuring fine art ceramics, silk-screened prints, and fashion-forward collections. 

The first 50 guests to check in to the party at the Haunted Marz Motel lobby desk will receive a special motel room swag bag from the long-shuttered original Marz Motel. Guests who attend in vampiric or ghoulish attire will be entered to win a special prize for Best Drip. Admission is free, but registration is via Eventbrite. 

Offshore Rooftop

Offshore Rooftop is transforming their all-season rooftop space on the East End of Navy Pier into a haunted sunken pirate ship this Halloween. On Saturday, October 28, Offshore will offer all guests the chance to walk the plank and get shipwrecked, with tickets including a Premium 4-hour bar (bottomless drinks) paired with several passed light bites throughout the evening. 

Doors open at 8pm and the night will be filled with giveaways, a haunted themed costume contest, music, dancing and more.

BOOze Brunch is taking place on Saturday, October 28 from 10am to 3pm and featuring bottomless mimosas and the signature Orange Halloween Frosés. Orange Halloween Frosés are available at all Hampton Social Chicagoland locations during Halloween week, October 24-31. The Bassment

The contest will feature a winner for three different costume categories: scariest, cutest, and most creative. Humans will have a chance to compete too. ROOF on theWit, is hosting a variety of events and programming, from live DJs to specialty cocktails and even a Spooky Silent Disco, ROOF offers views of Chicago through floor to ceiling windows, 27 stories up. 

ROOF also is now offering a variety of themed/specialty cocktails available to order starting today, Wednesday October 25th, through Halloween night! Guests and locals are welcomed on Halloween night for a first ever Silent Disco. There will be two different DJ’s for guests to choose how to party as they dance with other patrons with headphones. Tickets are only for the Silent Disco in the Gallery. Drinks and food can be purchased the night of the event. Regular service will be available in the Lounge. Guests must have an ID in order to check out headphones for the night and ID’s will be returned once party is over. Costumes are encouraged.

The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago

The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago will be hosting a month-long Spooky Tea series during October. The full menu offers a variety of selections created by Executive Chef Guenther Moreno and Pastry Chef Toni Roberts adorned with spooky touches.

Options include finger tea sandwiches like 400 Year Old Ghost, made with prosciutto di parma, cornichons, grain mustard cream cheese and brioche pullman; Crabby, made with crab salad, peppers, lemon aioli and charcoal bread; Hands Off, made with smoked salmon, capers and dill spread; and Spike, made with cucumber, heirloom tomatoes, borsin spread and Pullman. The menu also features Carbonara Quiche, made with bucatini, smokey mushroom and parmesan; freshly baked scones; and an assortment of pastries such as Candy Corn Parfait, with butterscotch cremeux, pumpkin pie and caramel corn; Madeleine Mummy, with lemon cake and blood orange jam; Monster Under the Bed, with blackberry mousse choux and pistachio diplomat cream; RIP Chocolate Tart, with salted caramel and super dark chocolate ganache; and Full Moon Macaron, with peanut butter banana and silver dust. Guests can choose from a an array of teas curated by French tea house Palais De Thes, or a bubbling flute of rose champagne - all set at Torali, the modern Italian steakhouse perched on the 12th floor of the hotel.
