Food Festival Fulton Market

This October 15-18, Harvest Fest: A Socially Distanced Celebration is coming to Fulton Market. Chef Stephanie Izard has brought together a cast for a weekend of bites, live music and cooking demonstrations, and beverage classes. Harvest Fest will follow all safety guidelines in its fourth year, with all events held outdoors, seated guests separated at safe distances, and mask protocol in place.

Live chef demonstrations will once again be featured at this year's festival. Stephanie Izard will be joined on stage by Sarah Grueneberg of Monteverde, Brian Jupiter of Ina Mae Tavern and Frontier, Jonathon Sawyer of Four Seasons Chicago, and Joe Flamm of Rose Mary. A variety of beverage classes and tastings will be held throughout the weekend, including Tim Williams of Pour Souls, Jim Striblen and Abby Titcomb of 3 Floyds, John Barley of Solemn Oath, Cassie Sakai from Girl & the Goat, and experts from Moët & Chandon. Izard also has a bevy of chef friends joining her to host ticketed meals including:

  • Harvest Fest Kickoff Dinner, featuring Chefs Diana Dávila of Mi Tocaya, Joe Flamm of Rose Mary, Zach Engel of Galit, and Jonathan Sawyer of Four Seasons Chicago
  • Boka Restaurant Group Dinner, featuring Chefs Lee Wolen of Boka, Jimmy Papadopoulos of Bellemore, Giuseppe Tentori of GT Fish & Oyster, and Chris Pandel of Swift & Sons

1pm - Harvest Fest Live Chef Demos 

  • Sarah Grueneberg from Monteverde and Brian Jupiter from Ina Mae Tavern and Frontier join Stephanie Izard for this afternoon of live demos, where guests will sample the food that these chefs are making, with libations. Equality Should Be Normal, an organization whose mission is to eradicate racism while advocating for violence prevention, reforming education, mentorship and enriching the black community, will also be in the house and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the organization. A signature cocktail featuring spirits from William Grant & Sons including Hendricks Gin, Milagro Tequila & Flora Cana Rum.

I Grow Chicago, whose mission is to grow Englewood from surviving to thriving through community connection, skill building, and opportunity, will also be in the house and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the organization. A signature cocktail featuring spirits from William Grant & Sons including Hendricks Gin, Milagro Tequila, & Flora Cana Rum.

12pm - Bubble Tasting with Moët & Chandon

  • Guests will be able to taste through brunch time bubbles, featuring Moët & Chandon Sparkling, Non Vintage and Vintage Champagne. Begin the class with a brief history of the houses, light snacks, and learn about the various tasting profiles and what makes these wines.

2pm - Solemn Oath Beer Tasting and Class with Owner, John Barley

  • Craft beer from Naperville brewery, Solemn Oath, and snacks from Chef Stephanie Izard as you learn about and taste through John's favorite beers

4pm - Pour Souls & This Little Goat Cocktail Class

  • Join Tim Williams of Pour Souls and Girl & the Goat’s resident cocktail creator Mike Zell to learn how to make fall cocktails featuring spices and sauces from the This Little Goat line by Stephanie Izard and spirits by William Grant & Sons. Guests will be able to take home recipes and their own sauces and spices to make these at home.

11am - Pour Souls & Mezcal 101 Class

  • A hand crafted cocktail featuring Peloton Espadin.  Then sit down for a full Mezcal class with Tim Williams of Pour Souls and taste 3 different Peloton Mezcals, as well 5 Mezcals from Mezcal de Leyendas.  Of course with all this Mezcal we will have brunch snacks throughout.

1pm - 3 Floyds Beer Class

  • Join Jim Striblen of 3 Floyds Brewery as he takes us through some of his favorite beers.  In addition to tasting select brews, guests will also learn about the beer making process and nibble on food from Chef Stephanie Izard.

3pm - Girl & the Goat Greek Wine Class and Tasting

  • A class led by Girl & the Goat sommelier Cassie Sakai, and Ted Diamantis, Owner of Diamond Importers and premier wine importer of natural and sustainable Greek wines as you taste through various regions and learn about Greecian wines.  Bites throughout the class as well.
