Half Acre & Commons Club Debuting Art Installation "In the Past, In the Future" April 26

Local brewery Half Acre taps into its artistic side with “In the Past, In the Future,” a collaboration with Virgin Hotels Chicago, debuting Friday, April 26. The 6-week art installation, part of Virgin’s ongoing rotating local artist series, features the brewery’s design-forward tap handles, woodworking and screen-printing and will be on display in Commons Club, the Virgin’s second-floor lounge and restaurant, through the beginning of June. 

For the launch party on Friday, April 26, DJ Naplam (Half Acre brewer Mike Palmer) will be spinning vinyl during the celebration from 5-9 p.m. A variety of specially priced Half Acre beers, including Volo Midwestern Wheat, Bodem IPA and Pony Pilsner, will be available on tap, as well as a specialty beer-centric cocktail named Midwest Bramble, created from Virgin Hotels Chicago Head Bartender Becky Dorsen. There’ll be giveaways, too, including T-shirts, koozies, buttons, pins and more, while supplies last.

Commons Club and Half Acre Beer Co are also teaming up to present Half Acre Beer Co vs Off Color Brewing: Battle of the Brews. These two local Chicago breweries will bring their best pairings on Thursday, May 23rd from 7-9PM with a 3-course and 6 (5 oz.) beer pairing dinner experience. Tickets can now be purchased here.
