On August 29th, Famous Dave’s will serve as head judge and host of the Illinois state certified grilling contest during the seventh annual Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ! With nearly 800 awards in the art of BBQ-ing, Famous Dave’s has making the smooth transition to judging rather than competing. Famous Dave’s will have several Kansas City BBQ Society Certified judges on site to determine the best BBQ Illinois has to offer.
Doors open to the public at 11:30pm on August 29 with free admission and the party continues to 9pm. A wide range of foods and beverages will be available for purchase from local popular vendors. Festivities include live music from Expo 76 & the Total Pro Horns, Smoked Rock & Soul, On your Marx, Inner Spice, a dunk tank, kid activities and the largest amatuer barbeqcue contest in Illinois.
The Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ began in 2009 when local barbecue enthusiasts decided to get together on a Glen Ellyn Street to see who was the best at their craft. Now it is the largest ammature BBQ event in the State of Illinois. Naturally, the largest ammature BBQ event has partnered with the nation’s most award winning BBQ restaurant Famous Dave’s to host the grilling contest and crown the winner of the city's best BBQ!
