The Event Details

Gene & Georgetti is celebrating its 85th anniversary with a limited-time menu available throughout August that revisits dishes from the restaurant's history. The anniversary menu highlights recipes and preparations that have been served over the decades alongside longtime menu options. Founded in 1941, Gene & Georgetti is marking the milestone with a menu that reflects the restaurant's history while recognizing the family members and guests who have shaped its legacy over more than eight decades.

The special menu includes Bacon & Blue, featuring thick-cut smoked bacon finished with blue cheese; housemade Fried Ravioli served with the restaurant's marinara sauce; a Walnut Cranberry Salad with apples, toasted walnuts, and apple vinaigrette; Lobster Fra Diavolo prepared with Maine lobster tail and spicy tomato sauce; and Pepper Steak made with filet medallions, sweet peppers, mushrooms, and tomato sauce.

“This anniversary is incredibly meaningful because it celebrates so much more than 85 years of serving great food — it celebrates the generations of people who built Gene & Georgetti into what it is today,” said Michelle Durpetti, owner and third-generation restaurateur. “My grandfather, Gene Michelotti, helped establish the traditions that became the foundation of this restaurant, and my father, Tony Durpetti, devoted his life to preserving and strengthening that legacy while making every guest feel like family. It is an honor to carry their vision forward, and we are forever grateful to the city of Chicago and to the generations of guests whose loyalty and support have made this milestone possible.”
