Geja Café is celebrating spring in Chicago with its two-month wine festival, “Tasting the World Through Rosé Colored Glasses”, through Friday, June 30th. Throughout the months of May and June, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy nine carefully selected rosés that represent the vastly different styles of rosé wine from around the world.

“Rosé is one of the fastest growing trends in wine consumption right now, and it is about time! For far too long many people have thought rosé was nothing but White Zinfandel styled wine that is way too sweet and offered no complexity or quality to the discerning palate.” says Geja’s Café Wine Director, Blake Farnsworth. “In all reality, quality and complex rosé is nothing new to the wine world. Italy, France and Spain have been producing high quality rosé for decades if not centuries and many other countries have been following suit. We are excited to use this festival as an opportunity to showcase one of our favorite styles of still wine, especially during spring in Chicago.”

A sampling of the featured Rose’ wines, available both by the glass and the bottle:

Sparkling Rosé

Varichon et Clerc Sparkling Rosé, France

Domaine Chandon "Etoile" Rose, California

Still Rosé

Familia Schroeder “Saurus” Rosé of Pinot Noir, Argentina

Jakob Schneider Rosé of  Spätburgunder, Germany

Perazetta Rosé of Sangiovese, Italy
