Enrico’s Italian restaurant in Frankfort, has announced the return of the third annual Enrico’s Spaghetti Eating contest and is introducing cash prizes for the first, second, and third place winners.
Contestants will be challenged to eat one pound of pasta smothered in Enrico’s homemade herb marinara sauce, armed only with a fork. They will have five minutes to finish their entire plate of pasta.
To earn a spot in the Championship, competitors must first participate in one of the qualifying rounds. Interested individuals can register on enricositalian.com/spaghetti. There are three qualifying round opportunities:
Rounds 1 and 2 will take place at Enrico’s Italian Restaurant, located at 20535 S. La Grange Rd. on August 3rd at 7pm and 7:30pm respectively.
Round 3 will be hosted at CD&Me, at 23320 S. La Grange Rd in Frankfort on August 10th starting at 6:30pm.
The top five finishers from each qualifying round will advance to the Championship taking place on September 2nd at the Breidert Green during the Frankfort Fall Festival.
The first-place winner will receive a $500 check and a $100 Enrico’s Gift Card
The second-place champion will be awarded a $300 check and a $75 Enrico’s Gift Card.
Lastly, the third-place participant will receive a $200 check and a $50 Enrico’s Gift Card.
