Celebrate America's birthday all weekend long at these city spots:

The Bristol

The Bristol, in Bucktown, is hosting their second annual Bristol, Beers & BBQ.

From July 1-7 (excluding July 4), The Bristol will have a specialty BBQ-themed menu. Featuring elotes, watermelon salad, baby back ribs, pulled pork sandwiches and more. They’re also partnering with local organization Kitchen Possible, who provides cooking and food education programming to kids in Chicago's underserved neighborhoods. Plus a tap takeover with Off Color Brewing with a variety of draft pours.


The rooftop will be open on July 4th from 4-10p. The South American bar will be serving specialty punch bowls and their Late Night Menu: Empanadas Yaquitas and Anticuchos.

After the Fourth of July barbecues, patrons can head to aliveOne, which will open at 8 p.m. on July 4. On special for the holiday will be $8 1776 cocktails (Crown Royal, yellow chartreuse, lemon juice and Regan's orange bitters). Additional specials will include $5 Lagunitas drafts and $5 Tito's cocktails.

Chicagoans can enjoy a Fourth of July beach party at Castaways, on North Avenue Beach, where they will have live entertainment by The DJ Firm from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guests will have the option of a special "Stars & Stripes" frozen cocktail. The red, white and blue drink features Castaway's Miami Vice (a frozen mix of pina colada and strawberry daiquiri) topped with blue curacao, and is available for $10 each from Monday, July 1 through Sunday, July 7.

Easy Bar

  • Thursday, July 4; open at 8 p.m.
  • $4 to $8 drink specials

Easy Bar will be open from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the Fourth of July. Guests can celebrate Independence Day with a $4 draft of the day, 5 Rabbit La Protesta and $8 Orange Bottle Rocket cocktails (Ketel One Oranje, New Holland Clockwork Orange Liqueur, Cedilla Liqueur, lime and lemon lime soda). 

Easy Bar will also feature FREE pool all night.

Estelle's will open from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. on Thursday, July 4. Specials will include a $7 F*ck Your Patio cocktail (Chicago Distilling Finn's Gin, Apologue Aronia, demerara, lemon juice), $4 featured drafts, $5 Tito's cocktails and $5 quesadillas (chicken or cheese with sour cream and pico).

Joy District and Parlay at JD

  • Thursday, July 4 at 12 p.m.

Chicagoans who visit Joy District on the Fourth of July will enjoy "Uncle Sam's Cookout" rooftop party featuring $5 grilled Hot Dogs with all the fixings (special is available on the rooftop only) and $14 Boozy Firecracker frozen cocktail with red, white and blue pina colada. Guests can also enjoy rooftop frozen cocktails for $14 each including a Frozé (rosé, Hangar One rosé vodka, strawberry puree), Casamigos Margarita (rotating flavors) and the Spray Tan (Red Bull Orange, mango puree, Cruzan Strawberry Rum).

Downstairs, Parlay at Joy District will also open at 12 p.m. for a "Forty's on the Fourth" party featuring select 40-ounce beers paired with a whisky shot for $12. Classic American sliders will also be available (three sliders and waffle fries; $15).

Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya Lincoln Park

  • Complimentary Japanese Matcha Ice Cream

Kizuki will give away FREE Japanese Matcha (green tea) soft serve ice cream at their Lincoln Park location. Patrons must follow Kizuki on Facebook to redeem.

Miller Lite Beer Garden

Patrons can kick off the Fourth of July celebrations with fireworks viewing at the Miller Lite Beer Garden at the East end Navy Pier on Wednesday, July 3 and Thursday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m., and on Saturday, July 6 at 10:15 p.m. 

On Saturday and Sunday, live entertainment from local bands (schedule below) will be provided. The beer garden offers live music paired with a menu of beers, cocktails, frozen drinks, beer-soaked brats, burgers, hand-tossed pizza and more.

Onward recently opened their patio. Debuting this summer, the dog-friendly sidewalk patio at Onward features seating for 24 guests. Onward's full food and drink menus are available for al fresco dining.

Remedy will open late on the Fourth of July at 10 p.m. and offer a patriotic Yankee Doodle cocktail (Aviation gin, Aperol, lemon juice, rhubarb bitters) for $8 each. Free hot dogs with DIY condiments and chips on the side will also be available while supplies last (no limit per customer).

Torchio Pasta Bar

  • Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 (CLOSED Thursday, July 4 & Sunday, July 7)

Guests can start the Fourth of July weekend on Friday, July 5 with Torchio Pasta Bar's new happy hour featuring $9 select wine, spritzes and appetizers from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Chicagoans can also dine their way through a new lunch menu on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 beginning at 11:30 a.m. The lunch menu features pasta made in-house daily with seasonal ingredients, a variety of salads, sandwiches and flatbreads along with salumi boards and cheese platters. 

The Owl

  • Thursday, July 4; open at 10 p.m.

Guests who are looking for a late night Fourth of July party will offered specials at The Owl including $6 Pretty on the Inside cocktails (Ron Zacapa rum, Malibu, lime, pineapple, coconut milk, plum bitters) and $3 Budweiser cans. The Owl will be open until 4 a.m. on the Fourth of July.

Weber Grill Restaurant Schaumburg 

  • Saturday, July 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • $85 per person

On Saturday, July 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Weber Grill Academy in Schaumburg will offer a hands-on class, featuring tips and tricks to grilling NY Strip Steak. Led by the Weber Grill Masters and Chefs, guests will have the opportunity to practice skills on either a Weber charcoal kettle grill or a Weber gas grill. Along with the recipes, chefs will teach guests the correct grill set up, grilling techniques and timing to get that "restaurant quality" grilled steak, every time.

Menu items will include grilled caprese salad with red onions and balsamic, reverse seared strip steak ("long island strip") with red wine butter, herb-grilled wild mushrooms, twice-baked potato with bacon and cheddar, and the 1943 Classic Chocolate Cake.

Jeff Mauro’s barbecue joint is making hosting for 4th of July easier. In order to celebrate the holiday, Pork & Mindy’s will be running the following catering sales:

  • Spend $100 and get 15% off, spend $200 and get 20% off, and spend $300 and get $25% off.

  • Orders of over $100 will include a complimentary order of Pig Candy

  • Just for the 4th of July, with every catering order placed you'll receive a complimentary sauce of your choice.

Steingold's Deli is making hosting a little bit easier this 4th of July with a catering promotion to help spice of patio parties or a day by the water. Order 4 lb. of their 10-hour smoked, thick sliced hot pastrami (serves 10-12) for $100 and get publican rye bread, deli mustard, and sides of dill potato salad, and close slaw included. Orders can be placed online at until July 2nd and can be picked up any time between open and noon on the 4th. 

Stan's Donuts & Coffee

Red, white and blue donuts - that’s a way to celebrate. All 12 Stan’s Donuts & Coffee locations will be offering a red, white and blue donut decorated with sugar for $2.79. The donut will be available from July 1 - July 7.

Cerise at Virgin Hotels Chicago

A 4th of July Grill Out at Cerise on top of Virgin Hotels Chicago. The grill out all day will consist of $5 PBR, $9 PBR + a shot and grilled beef and beyond burgers. There will also be a live DJ throughout the day.

Shore Club

This Fourth of July, guests can imbibe on the ‘Merica Package ($750) with 4th of July themed inflatables, USA flags and a fully stocked Yeti cooler at The Oasis, which boasts sunbed, daybed and cabana offerings in a lounge area. Shore Club will also offer The Frozen ($14) – a specialty frozen cocktail consisting of Pina Colada, Strawberry Daiquiri and blue Frozignon Blanc, for a patriotic, red, white and blue experience.


Casati’s, the family owned, modern Italian restaurant, has announced they will offer a new 4th of July Pinsa Pizza, featuring Pinsa, mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce and pepperoni, depicting the American Flag, for $18 on Thursday, July 4th. Opening at 11 a.m., Casati’s, which is home to a new 42-seat, pet-friendly patio, will also offer 40% off specialty cocktails and wine during lunch.

JoJo’s Milk Bar

This Fourth of July, JoJo’s has crafted a specialty milkshake to celebrate America’s birthday. The Fourth of July Shake ($14) starts off with flying American colors in a creamy vanilla, blueberry and raspberry base, a collar of vanilla icing paired with red, white and blue sprinkles, and a topper composed of a white chocolate twizzler, festive star cookie and sprinkle-coated oversized marshmallow.

In honor of Independence Day, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts introduces the “Let Freedom Ring” patriotic collection of doughnuts at Chicagoland shops located in Homewood at 17815 South Halsted Street, Evergreen Park at 9150 South Western Avenue and Hillside at 110 South Mannheim Road.

The star-spangled collection consists of three Fourth of July doughnuts, available today through Independence Day, July 4:

  • Firework Ring Doughnut: A festive new twist on Krispy Kreme’s Original Glazed® Doughnut topped with blue icing, drizzled in red and white icing fireworks.
  • Freedom Ring Doughnut: Featuring Krispy Kreme’s Original Glazed® Doughnut decorated in the spirit of the American flag with a red, white and blue icing drizzle and sprinkles.

The West Loop’s Bandit (841 West Randolph Street) is hosting r its first ever, “Bandit Backyard Barbecue,” bash on Thursday, July 4.

All day, beginning at 11 a.m., expect off-the-menu food, drinks and shots to be available. Included, will be Bandit’s play on the famous Chicago-Style Hot Dog for $9, as well as red, white and blue Jell-O shots for $6 and coolers of six, assorted, domestic beer for $20.
