September at City Works Eatery & Pour House has a lot to celebrate – National Chicken Month, the kickoff to football season, and the start of Oktoberfest.

National Chicken Month

National Chicken Month is upon us and Rebel's Hot Chicken, operating out of City Works Eatery & Pour House and Old Town Pour House, is serving it up all month long. Centered around Rebel’s hot chicken sauce, Rebel’s Hot Chicken offers a take on Nashville-style hot chicken. Locals can choose from twists on the classic taste of Nashville with signature creations including:  

  • Rebel’s Inferno Fried Chicken Sandwich - buttermilk-breaded crispy chicken topped with a spicy combo of Nashville hot sauce, scorpion slaw, and pickled jalapeno on a brioche bun 
  • Rebel’s Spicy Mac N Cheese - crispy popcorn chicken, Nashville hot sauce, bacon lardons, IPA cheese sauce, cavatappi pasta 

Rebel’s Hot Chicken is available for carryout or delivery only and guests can place their orders directly online by selecting their preferred location, or on Grubhub, Uber Eats and Door Dash.    

Football Season

City Works Eatery & Pour House located in Schaumburg, Wheeling, and Vernon Hills is a sports restaurant and bar with over 90+ beers and up to 16 HDTVs. Guests can choose from a variety of shareable, classic and house dishes such as: 

  • Buffalo Chicken Dip – Pulled Buffalo Chicken, Bleu Cheese Cream, House-made Giardiniera, Corn Tortilla Chips 
  • Smoked Chicken Wings – Grilled Chili-rubbed Wings, BBQ Sauce, Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce 
  • Loaded Baked Potato – Fingerling potatoes, hardwood smoked bacon, mozzarella, cheddar, green onions, ranch dressing.

Oktoberfest 

City Works Eatery & Pour House, located in Schaumburg, Wheeling, and Vernon Hills, is saying “Prost!” this Oktoberfest with limited-time, German-inspired menu items and festive beers. These themed dishes will be available from Sept. 17 - Oct. 3:  

  • Smokehouse Currywurst- Spicy hot link, currywurst sauce, bacon braised sauerkraut, caramelized onions, steak roll  
  • Crispy Pork Belly Spaetzle- Crispy braised pork belly, brown butter, roasted garlic, wilted arugula, spaetzle, Lagunitas spicy brown mustard  
  • Pork Schnitzel- Hand-pounded bone-in pork chop, warm potato salad, mustard cream sauce 

It wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without beer, which is why City Works will offer a variety of Oktoberfest-inspired beers as part of its lineup of 90+ beers on tap, including Sam Adams Oktoberfest, Goose Island Oktoberfest, Dogfish Head Punkin’ and ACE Pumpkin. Additionally, guests can catch the following local brews at each location: 

  • Schaumburg & Wheeling: Metropolitan Afterburner 
  • Vernon Hills: Revolution Oktoberfest
