The Florentine is whisking guests away to Tuscany on Friday, May 13 with a special wine dinner hosted in collaboration with family-owned and operated winery Marchesi de’Frescobaldi, native to the Tuscan region in Italy. Brooke Tarkin, an ambassador of the well-renowned winery, will help guide the evening along with The Florentine’s sommelier Alexandra Sarovich. The evening will begin with a complimentary aperitivo toast upon arrival of Pomino Bianco Chardonnay (2014) and passed sopresatta, fava and pecorino, and asparagus and fresh ricotta crostinis. Executive Chef Zach Walrath of The Florentine has prepared a thoughtful four-course menu to pair with the selected wines, featuring:

Antipasti

Calamari alla Griglia grilled calamari steak, sea salt ciabatta, crushed fresh cherry tomatoes, shaved fennel and preserved lemon vinaigrette

Wine pairing: Massovivo Ammiraglia, Vermentino 2014

Paste

Papardelle house made pasta, braised lamb neck ragu, carrot ribbons, dried currant, and mint gremolata

Wine pairing: Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni, Cabernet Blend, 2012

Secondi

Bistecca pan roasted NY strip, bluck truffle polenta, oyster mushroom and porcini demi

Wine paring: Castelgiocondo, Brunello di Montalcino, 2009

Dolce

Gelato Tuscan olive oil gelato, pine honey grilled apricots, amaretti
