Join Union Chef Vince DiBattista at the soon-to-open Union Full Board at The Wheelhouse Hotel in Wrigleyville, as he teams up with Ellen King of Hewn Bakery and Josh Gilbert of Temperance Beer Company.
As a part of the inaugural Chicago Food Bowl, the trio will host a three-course dinner on Wednesday, August 22nd from 6:30-8:30pm. Guests will indulge in Detroit-style pizza and Italian fare from Union Full Board, expert beer pairings from Temperance Brewing and hand-made bread from Hewn, forged from spent grains after the beer brewing process from Temperance.

THE FOOD + BEER: The evening will begin with a cocktail reception with Union’s Detroit-style pizza, paired with Temperance’s American lager, Basement Party followed by a three-course dinner including:
- BURRATA with wood-roasted corn, Calabrian peppers & Hewn Focaccia paired with Smittytown, an English-style Amber beer
- TURKEY MILANESE with spicy slaw & sriracha aioli on Hewn Ciabatta paired with the Birdsong, a farmhouse saison
- CHOCOLATE PANNA COTTA paired with Might Meets Right, an imperial coffee stout
In addition, every table will be served Spent Grain Bread, from Hewn, an Evanston bakery known for their hand forged, naturally fermented breads and pastries. Hewn’s Head Baker/Owner Ellen King and her team take the spent grains from Temperance Brewery that would normally be thrown away and incorporate them into loaves of bread each week.
