What to know about Election Day Dining Around Town

The next leader of our nation will be determined on Tuesday, and a host of local restaurants will welcome guests to dine, drink and view on premise, or head right to the couch with a carryout meal. 

TACO JOINT
Taco Joint in River North and Lincoln Park will offer two "Decision Day" dining deals on Tuesday, November 8. For $20.16, guests may select two Taco Joint margaritas, guacamole, chips 'n' salsa (dine-in viewing party) or any six tacos plus chips 'n' salsa (take-out/delivery). What will your decision be? 

TALLBOY TACO
Vote for tacos! On Election Day, Tallboy Taco will offer anyone with an "I Voted" sticker a complimentary taco with the purchase of any menu item (11 a.m.-10 p.m.). Chef Tim Hockett's taco menu offers eight varieties made with fresh corn tortillas, including: Cowboy 12 Hour Smoked Brisket; Beer-Battered Crispy Fish; Chicken Tinga; Gunthorp Farms Carnitas; and Crispy Avocado (regularly $3.50-$4 each).

D.S. TEQUILA COMPANY

D.S. Tequila Company's viewing party will feature two politically-themed margaritas: Democrazy (Sauza Blue Silver tequila, lime juice, orange juice, blueberry red bull float and blue curaco); and Repubilcan't Walk Anymore (Sauza Blue Silver tequila, lime juice, orange juice, blueberry red bull float and grenadine). The margaritas are $10 (mug), $22 (bowl) and $38 (pitcher). From 5-10 p.m., chicken wings will be priced at a recession-proof $0.25 with beverage purchase. D.S. 

KICK
Kick restaurant and lounge will tune their TVs to election night coverage while you enjoy burger night. Wagyu beef burgers will be offered at half-price from 6-10 p.m. (seven to choose from; regularly $14). Guests may substitute any burger option with a grilled chicken breast or house made veggie patty. Arrive early for happy hour (4-6 p.m.): half-priced snacks/appetizer menu; $7 tap wines; $5 draft beers.


KIT KAT LOUNGE AND SUPPER CLUB

Kit Kat's purrfectly political martini menu will be featured at $7, in addition to a ColdSpell "politics" shot for $2. Politinis include: Barack The Vote, Effen Vodka, Soho Lychee liqueur and a splash of blue curacao, garnished with a cherry jello shot, lychee and USA flag; Cruz Control, Canadian Club whiskey, fresh lemon, Pama liqueur, agave nectar, simple syrup, grenadine, splash of bitters and soda, garnished with a Canadian flag; ImPEACHed, Stoli Peachik, orange juice and pineapple juice, garnished with a Russian flag; You're Fired, Lunazul tequila, fresh lime, triple sec and blackberry Izze soda, garnished with a Mexican flag and a Republican flag; The First Husband, Jim Beam Apple, Jim Beam Fire, Hot Damn liqueur and apple cider, garnished with a cinnamon dusted apple wheel and Libyan flag. The election night viewing party, hosted by Diva Mocha Montrese, will show live coverage on seven screens starting at 5:30 p.m. The lounge closes at 2 a.m. 


TIMOTHY O'TOOLE'S PUB
Sing away the campaign in Streeterville. The subterranean sports pub will show election night coverage on 74 screens, followed by a fun karaoke session at 10:30 p.m. Specials for the evening include: select craft brews by the bottle, $4.50; shots of Fireball, $6.50; and mixed drinks made with O'Toole's Vodka, $5.50. Lingering late night? Chef Corey Grupe offers late night dining. The restaurant and bar will close at 3 a.m.
