On Saturday, October 17, Chicago Electric Boat Company, Chicago Cycleboats and Firecakes donuts will host a special Donut & Donut Boat cruise at Rockwell on the River (3057 N Rockwell St.), Avondale’s newest artisanal destination on the Chicago River.

From 1 - 5 p.m., Firecakes will out bring “Billy,” their 1968 Citron truck and one of only 13 still operating in the United States, to the shores of Rockwell on the River to celebrate the end of CEBC’s first season with the Donut Boats, the newest addition to their electric boat fleet that offers a 360-degree view of the city. Those who book a cruise on any of their boats at Rockwell on the River between 1 - 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, will receive a free half dozen donuts to enjoy while taking a fall cruise through the changing leaves and scenery on the North branch of the river. Donuts & coffee will also be available for purchase for visitors of Rockwell.

The last day to cruise on a Donut Boat this season is October 18, but the addition of space heaters to the spacious Electric Duffy Boats will let guests comfortably cruise until November 15, weather permitting.
