Background file: Discourse Coffee Opens New Chicago Home in Fulton Market in Partnership with Taratsa Hospitality Partners
Taratsa Hospitality Partners of Chicago and Milwaukee-based experiential hospitality firm The Afterglow Group have announced the grand opening of Discourse Coffee in Chicago’s Fulton Market on Monday, May 4. Discourse Coffee delivers espresso and tea creations like Channel Orange, Motorhead and Ramen Latte along with premium café standards and pastries. Discourse will offer both counter service and cafe seating, creating an environment for guests to gather, work, or linger over crafted beverages.
This move into Fulton Market marks the official opening of Discourse’s first brick-and-mortar cafe in Chicago following a year-long residency in Wicker Park alongside Urbanbelly by Chef Bill Kim. Located at 950 W. Fulton Market, Discourse joins Urbanbelly within Taratsa Hospitality Group’s 24,000 square foot multi-concept dining destination that also includes Pitaki, a Greek fast-casual restaurant, live music venue The Wild Hare, and Morgan’s on Fulton, a year-round two-level with rooftop private event venue.
The Fulton Market location will feature signature drinks from its past Chicago residency, including the Ramen Latte, the Channel Orange a take on a vanilla latte made with espresso, milk, smoked and oaked orange vanilla syrup, blackstrap bitters, orange powder, and black lava salt, alongside more traditional offerings like drip coffee, tea, and by-the-cup pour over selections. Discourse is also introducing a pastry program with both sweet and savory options, including croissants, cookies and biscotti, rounding out the daytime experience.
Discourse Coffee will be open seven days a week from 7:30am to 4:30pm, offering bi-weekly specials and evolving seasonal menus. For more information on the opening date, menu, and more, visit www.discourse.coffee or follow along on Instagram at @discourse.coffee.
