Cookies & Dreams joins the Southside community this summer as the new kid on the cookie block.
“We are growing so much in 2022 and it has been an exciting, heartwarming experience so far,” shares Stephanie Sellers, Founder & CEO of Cookies & Dreams. “We’ve received wonderful support in each of the communities we’ve opened stores in and can’t wait to see the impact we continue to have.”
An avid baker since 1994, Stephanie learned the art of baking from her long-time babysitter Mimi. Together, they baked cookies, pies, brownies, and more – even entering a few creations into competitions. She always loved the creativity making things allowed her to embrace and during tough times, she found herself always going back to baking. Her OG Chocolate Chip Cookie is the cookie that started it all. Initially crafted for her local Midwest restaurant, it became the inspiration for a Cookies & Dreams counter inside the restaurant.
Cookies & Dreams officially launched in January 2020, on the precipice of the COVID-19 pandemic.
All cookies are hand-crafted on-site by “The Dream Team.” Cookies & Dreams always has a full cookie counter with over 12 freshly baked flavors daily. Each of these cookies are well over a quarter pound a piece (with the thickness of a hockey puck). A sampling of options include:
Peanut Butter: Super duper soft & super duper peanut butter-y; finished off with a little granulated sugar topping.
Snickerdoodle Cheesecake:The soft and lightly cinnamon-y snickerdoodle cookie is stuffed with vanilla cream cheese frosting and topped with the signature cookie glaze, more cinnamon sugar and a drizzle of salted caramel sauce.
Double Trouble: Half chocolate chip, half triple chocolate and stuffed with a full Oreo and creamy peanut butter.
PuppyChow Cookie:a chocolate chip cookie loaded with semi sweet and peanut butter chips. Topped with melted chocolate and housemade puppy chow.
Oak Lawn is the first Illinois storefront and a second location located in Naperville is set to open this Fall. Located at 10800 Cicero Avenue, the 2000-ft store is standing room only and features a bright and welcoming 26-foot-long cookie counter filled with 10-15 flavors of cookies every day. Cookies & Dreams – Oak Lawn is open Monday – Sunday from 10am – 9pm.
