Connie’s Pizza in the Gold Coast is partnering up with local Chicago Chefs for a delicious and charitable guest chef pizza series. Each chef will bring their unique culinary background into Connie’s kitchen where they will create a signature pizza alongside owner, Mike Stolfe. The signature pizza will be featured at the restaurant for an entire month and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Chef’s charity of choice.
September kicks off the series with an Italian-inspired, wood-fired pizza from Michelin starred Chef Ryan McCaskey (Acadia). The pizza is brushed with fresh garlic and olive oil then topped with layers of prosciutto di parma, provolone cheese and roasted mushrooms then sprinkled with fresh torn basil and truffle oil. The Neapolitan style pizza, "La pizza dei Boschi" (pizza of the woods), was inspired by McCaskey’s background in regional Italian cooking.
The pizza will be available throughout September for $11.99 at Connie's Gold Coast location. Connie’s will donate 50% of each purchase to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
C Chef Rodelio Aglibot (Chef Consultant/The Food Buddha) will create November’s pizza in support of “In Chef’s Hands”.
