Coastal Soups, the seasonal to-go pop-up concept from Summer House, returns to Chicago’s Lincoln Park on Thursday, October 15. Made from scratch daily and available for carryout and delivery only, the menu features a mix of returning favorites and new offerings from Chef Ben Goodnick, including scratch-made soups by the pint or quart, sandwich and salad pairings, Cookie Bar In A Cup, and – new for this year – family-style Soup Kits, perfect for parties, gifting and cozy nights at home.
Every item on Coastal Soups’ menu is made with locally sourced produce, all-natural chicken, top-quality Wagyu beef, and more. Signatures include Old Fashioned Chicken Noodle, Roasted Butternut Squash with fall-spiced pepitas, and Mediterranean Lentil with root vegetables and labneh, along with rotating “Chef’s Kettle” options like Wisconsin Broccoli and Chicken Tortilla Soup with crispy flautas, avocado and cilantro. Coastal Soups can also accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions with selections such as the vegetarian Herbed Tomato Bisque and the gluten-free Wagyu Beef Chili.
The menu brings even more to the table with 'Great with Soup' pairings, like the new Turkey Club Wrap with applewood bacon, tomato, arugula and herb aioli alongside favorites like the Buttery Toasted Cheese with cheddar and havarti on sourdough, Harvest Salad with pecans, cranberries and balsamic, and Jalapeno Cornbread with honey butter, which serves two.
Summer House’s celebrated desserts are also available in the Summer House Cookie Bar In A Cup, featuring a bite-sized selection of signature housemade favorites in one cute container.
New for this year, Coastal Soups is offering a Soup Kit ideal for gifting, parties, and cozy nights at home. Each kit is $129.95, plus tax, and includes a branded Coastal Soups insulated Yeti mug, two quarts of your choice of soup, a choice of a loaf of bread or pan of Jalapeno Cornbread, and four signature Summer House cookies. A limited menu of Coastal Soups will also be available at The Cookie by Summer House at 161 E. Huron St. in Streeterville beginning Thursday, October 22, including Wagyu Beef Chili, Old Fashioned Chicken Noodle and Herbed Tomato Bisque.
Additionally, Summer House’s annual Chili Cook-Off is Thursday, October 29, from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at Summer House - Lincoln Park. Chefs from Sushi-san, Gus’s Sip & Dip, The Oakville Grill & Cellar, Bub City, Summer House, and Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba! will each serve up their own spin on chili as guests vote to crown the Chili Champ; the winning chili may land on the Coastal Soups menu for a limited time. Tickets are $81 per person, plus tax, and available on Tock.
