Mezcaleria Las Flores will be serving $8 margaritas in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Owner Jay Schroeder’s philosophy behind the margarita is to keep it classic and simple mixing Milagro blanco, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur and simple syrup, garnished with salt and poured over a generous helping of ice.

Guests can also cheers to Cinco de mayo by sipping mezcals that are served in one ounce copitas or try try one of the mezcal cocktails, such as the Falconry Demonstration, which includes Mezcal Pelotón de la Muerte , Busnel Calvados, fresh blood orange cordial, Luxardo Maraschino, egg white and hibiscus. They can pick Jay’s brain as one of Chicago’s authorities on Mexican spirits and the inspiration behind his cocktails from his frequent travels to Oaxaca and Mezcaleria Las Flores served in vessels that he brought back including gourds and clay pots.
