To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Cody’s Public House in West Lakeview will host a fiesta complete with a Taco Truck, Tequila Fest, Salsa Cook-off and drink specials on Sunday, May 4 beginning at 11 a.m.. The Los Candiles Taco Truck will be at Cody’s at 1 p.m. along with a tequila sampling at 2 p.m. featuring Casamigos, Dobel, Don Julio, Camarena, 1800, Grand Centenario, Teremana, Patron, Clasa Azul, Casa Azul and Milagro. Shots of each tequila will be available for $6 each. $5 draft margaritas will be available all day along with $5 Modelo pints, $25 Corona family buckets, and $30 Mamitas buckets. The party will also feature Modelo and Mamitas samplings and giveaways. Cody’s will also host a Salsa Cook-off at 2 p.m. The first place winner will receive $150. On Monday, May 5, 2025, their patio will be opening for the summer and launching their brand-new beer collaboration with Marz Community Brewing Company. The party will run from 5 PM - 9 PM and marks the official opening of their expansive patio for the summer season. In the days leading up to the party, from April 30 through May 5, guests can enjoy a selection of special off-menu offerings, including the debut of Manchamanteles' signature cerveza, Maíz Dorado, along with Margaritas de Zanahoria, Pepino & Rosemary Margarita, Strawberry Hibiscus Palomas, Guacamole de Parmesano, Ceviche de Hamachi con Yuzu y Chile Serrano, and a Flor de Calabaza Quesadilla.
The Maíz Dorado is a brand-new, small-batch beer created in collaboration with Marz Community Brewing Co. Guests will be among the first to sip and snag this exclusive release, available for tasting and purchase on the patio during the event.
Guests can also enjoy $10 margaritas in lime, strawberry, and mango flavors throughout the day of the party. The full regular menu will be available as usual from 11 AM to 10 PM. Reservations are highly recommended, as seating on the patio is limited.
