Cider Summit Chicago is accepting pre-orders for its "Festival-To-Go Tasting Kits.” These kits are being released in conjunction with CiderCon, a conference for cidermakers, put on by the American Cider Association and normally held bi-annually in Chicago. Cider Summit's CiderCon Tasting Kits can be ordered now through January 15, at CiderSummit.comshipping the week of February 1.

Cider Summit Chicago is the annual celebration of artisanal hard cider, last held in Chicago in early 2020, but has been forced to pivot in 2021 from a physical festival to a curated tasting experience in the safety of one’s own home.

“We’ve traditionally held our Cider Summit Chicago event in February in conjunction with CiderCon,” said Alan Shapiro, Cider Summit founder and producer.  “Although the pandemic has changed the way events are operating, it’s still important to us to continue this tradition and celebrate our amazing cider community in a new and creative way.”

Each tasting kit includes a selection of ciders representing a cross-section of long-term partners of Cider Summit; two Cider Summit tasting glasses; apple and pear-shaped stress balls; promotional items from participating cidermakers; and access to a live virtual event hosted by Cidercraft Magazine on February 6, from 8-9:30 p.m. CST offering 90 minutes of live music alongside vignettes from several cidermakers. The guided virtual tasting event is co-hosted with Northwest Cider Association (NWCA). Several of the participating cidermakers will share tasting notes and general merriment.

(The event will be recorded for those who are unable to attend the virtual event live.)

There are two Festival-To-Go editions available:
