Chicagoland Loews Hotels Share Flavorful “Getaway in a Glass” Signature Cocktail Recipes

Loews Chicago and Loews Chicago O’Hare are sharing cocktails, Keep Your Gin Up and the Ashburn Bloody Mary to give a little taste of the Chicago area, for those dreaming of a getaway. “Getaways in a Glass” is a new Loews Hotels brand-wide offering featuring signature cocktail recipes from properties around the country that can be recreated at home. Each recipe is handcrafted locally, with a nod to its destination.

“At Loews Hotels & Co, our food & beverage is seamlessly and deeply intertwined in the destinations that we call home,” said  Mark Weiss, Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage, Loews Hotels & Co. “In sharing our ‘Getaways in a Glass’ cocktails, we hope to give guests a chance to have a taste of the incredible cities that our hotels are located in, while still delivering that locally handcrafted hospitality that Loews is known for.” 

Loews Chicago Hotel’s special ”Getaways in a Glass” cocktail is the Keep Your Gin Up.

1.5 oz. blueberry merlot infused aviation gin

1 oz. benzinger merlot

.5oz. lemon juice

.05. simple syrup

Star anise

Add all ingredients to tin, except wine.  Add ice. Shake and strain in a rocks glass over ice. Top with 1 oz. benzinger merlot float and garnish with star anise.

Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel’s special “Getaway in a Glass” cocktail is the Ashburn Blood Mary.

2 oz. Grey Goose Vodka            

1 dash of Worcestershire Sauce        

1 dash of Tabasco                   

5 oz. Ashburn Bloody Mary Mix (or Bloody Mary Mix of your choice)

1 wedge Lime/Lemon                       

1 Celery Stick                        

1 Skewer with Meats & Cheeses

Add dashes of Worcestershire Sauce and Tabasco into Mason jar, then pour all ingredients into Mason jar over ice. Stir gently. Garnish with celery stalk, lemon/lime wedge and skewer of meats and cheeses.
