Craft Beer American The Loop

Franklin Tap, the Loop-located craft beer tavern, will hold three beer-centric events during Chicago Craft Beer Week. Each event is detailed below.

On Friday, May 20, Franklin Tap will welcome Two Brothers Brewing. At 11 a.m., a firkin of coconut-infused, Sidekick American Pale Ale will be tapped and beers will flow until the firkin is finished. At 5 p.m., Two Brothers representative Amanda Ziesmer will sample their new summer seasonal brew, A Bretter Day, and hand out Two Brothers merchandise. On draft: A Bretter Day biere de garde, 16oz $5; Sidekick extra pale ale, 16oz, $6; Wobble IPA American IPA, 16oz, $6; Ebel's Weiss hefeweizen, 20oz, $6; 19th Anniversary Ale imperial barley wine-style stout, 12oz, $8. On cask: Coconut-infused Sidekick American pale ale, 16oz, $5.

On Monday, May 23, Franklin Tap will put Chicago's Half Acre Beer Company in the spotlight by featuring five unique draft offerings and three of their core cans. The specials will start at 11 a.m. and at 4 p.m., Half Acre merchandise will be delved out. On draft: Pony Pils German-style pils, 16oz $6; Golden Tuna extra pale ale, 16oz, $6; Galactic Double Daisy Cutter double pale ale, 12oz, $8; Shrub Tundra coffee brown ale, 12oz, $7; Chocolate Camaro chocolate milk stout, 12oz, $7. 16-ounce, $6 canned brews include: Daisy Cutter; Akari Shogun; and Vallejo IPA.

On Wednesday, May 25, Franklin Tap will tap four rare beers from Anderson Valley Brewing Company out of California. Starting at 11 a.m., brewery representative Ian McCarten will be on hand to talk about these unique brews and will sample their new 12oz canned seasonal, Briney Melon Gose (watermelon gose, $6). Franklin Tap is the only tavern in Illinois to tap all four of these beers together! 12-ounce, $8 drafts include: Heelch O'Hops double IPA; Thribble Currant American wild/sour; Huge Arker bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout; and Barkley's Belgian strong dark ale.
