Legal Sea Foods has appointed Chef Tyler Lucier as Culinary Partner at its Chicago location, the brand’s first restaurant in the Midwest. Lucier, a seasoned hospitality professional with more than 27 years of industry experience, comes to River North from the company’s Boston flagship, Harborside.
Lucier’s career with Legal Sea Foods spans over a decade, during which he has held roles including Kitchen Manager, Executive Chef, and Area Chef, overseeing multiple restaurants across the East Coast. Most recently, he managed regional operations in Illinois, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Known for his creative approach to cuisine—especially shellfish dishes presented as edible works of art—he is also recognized for his passion for mentorship and commitment to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds as they pursue culinary careers.
“In kitchens across the country, but especially here in Chicago, I’ve found a special energy,” said Lucier. “After spending time here earlier this year, I felt an immediate connection to the city. I’m grateful for the opportunity to turn that connection into something lasting with Legal Sea Foods.”
In his new role, Lucier will oversee all food and beverage operations, lead culinary staff training, and spearhead local partnerships, positioning Legal Sea Foods Chicago as an active contributor to the city’s dining community.
Located at 315 N. Dearborn Street in the heart of River North, Legal Sea Foods Chicago opened in July 2024, introducing the brand’s award-winning New England seafood traditions to local diners.
