Chalet, from HiFi Hospitality, Opens in River North this June

Inspired by ski resorts in Aspen, soon-to-open Chalet, located at 228 W. Chicago Avenue in River North’s former Farmhouse space, will provide guests a sustainable farm-to-table dinner, weekend brunch, or hand-crafted late-night cocktails. Slated to open in early June 2021, Chalet is the restaurant debut of newly formed HiFi Hospitality, an offspring of HiFi Social.

“We recognize that people are yearning to get out and socialize again. They want to safely enjoy a truly satisfying and memorable meal or cocktail with friends somewhere special, beyond their living room sofa or patio,” says Partner Sam Egar. “Guests to Chalet will be treated to a luxuriously cozy, Aspen-lodge aesthetic paired with a superior food and beverage program and outstanding customer service.” 

The space features natural wood tones, exposed brick and warm lighting, and mountain-inspired décor. A polished and welcoming 2,200-square-foot first floor will provide space for meals or libations. Patrons are welcome to venture to the 1,900-square-foot second floor that provides a cocktail lounge experience. Seasonally, Chalet will offer a 24-seat sidewalk café.

The first floor will be open Wednesday to Sunday for happy hour (4 to 6:30 p.m.) and dinner. A full food and beverage menu will be available until 10 p.m. nightly, with a limited late-night menu offered 10 p.m. to midnight Thursday to Sunday. A weekend brunch menu, complete with special offers, will also be available. 

The second floor may be rented for special events. On evenings with no scheduled events, the space will be open 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday and Friday and to 3 a.m. on Saturday.
