From milkshakes on-the-go to a French Macon Glace and everything in between, these chefs are elevating the simplicity of ice cream and celebrating all the sweet tooth lovers out there, not just National Ice Cream Day (July 17th) but every day. 

Stan’s Donuts & Coffee

As part of Stan’s new all day menu, the milkshakes are for those looking for an afternoon sweet treat with a variety of flavors. With multiple flavor options such as traditional Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry, or more options like Nutella, OREO, Biscoff and Donut. 

Farm Bar Lakeview

The Affogato, blending the bitter flavors of coffee with the sweetness of a dollop of ice cream. Typically known as “Affogato al caffe”, Farm Bar in Lakeview is celebrating this traditional Italian dessert by keeping it simple, with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream topped or “drowned” with a shot of hot espresso. 

LG’s Bar & Kitchen

LG’s Bar & Kitchen, located in Chicago’s Old Town, offers diners an Irish Whiskey Peanut Butter Cookie Skillet highlighting the warm gooey-peanut butter mixed with a topping of smooth vanilla ice cream in every spoonful finished with an LG’s staple, the warm Irish Whiskey Glaze. 

Robert Et Fils

At Robert et Fils, a take on the ice cream sandwich, Macon Glace. The french-style ice cream is served in between two macarons, all of which is made fresh in-house. Diners can expect flavors such as Vanilla Macaron filled with Tahitian Vanilla Bean Ice Cream & Apricot-Elderflower Jam. 

Tabu

Tabu in Chicago’s West Loop is offering Chef Saúl Román’s Dulce de Leche Oblea. Coconut ice cream joins dulce de leche, meringue and sea salt to top a crispy wafer.

Palmer House x The Original Rainbow Cone

Palmer House, a Hilton Hotel has announced that it has partnered with The Original Rainbow Cone in honor of National Ice Cream Day. Together, they will be hosting a special Ice Cream Truck. Menu items will include Palmer House’s Palmer House Brownie Sundae; The Original Rainbow Cone’s signature Palmer House ice cream flavor, or New York vanilla with cherries and walnuts; and Rainbow Cones, featuring layers of Palmer House, chocolate, strawberry, pistachio, and orange sherbet ice cream flavors. 

The Ice Cream Truck will be stationed at Palmer House, a Hilton Hotel (124 South Wabash Avenue) on National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, July 17 from 12pm-2pm CST.

Cramer-Krasselt x Porsche Cars North America, Inc. x Pretty Cool Ice Cream

In honor of National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, July 17, Cramer-Krasselt (C-K), the nation’s second-largest independent marketing and communications agency, and Porsche Cars North America, Inc. today announced the launch of limited-edition ice cream pops in collaboration with Pretty Cool Ice Cream in Chicago. The following custom ice cream flavors are inspired by Porsche paint colors and feature flavors with packaging to match:  

  • Mint Green: a green mint cookies and cream ice cream with a mint green white chocolate shell.  

  • Strawberry Red: cream Cheese ice cream dipped in a strawberry red shell. Made with real freeze-dried strawberries. 

  • Macadamia Metallic: roasted macadamia ice cream in a sparkling macadamia metallic-colored chocolate shell 

  • Frozen Berry Metallic: black raspberry ice cream in a sparkling frozen berry colored Ruby chocolate shell.   

  • Lime Gold Metallic: key lime pie ice cream in a sparkling lime gold colored caramel shell. 

The Pretty Cool Lincoln Park (709 West Belden) location in Chicago will offer the ice cream pops on National Ice Cream Day on July 17. The custom ice cream pops will also be available at exclusive Porsche events later this year.
