Osteria Langhe welcomes venturesome diners for a celebratory Bollito Misto menu on Thursday, December 17, 2015, in honor of the Piemonte region of Italy’s famous La Fiera del Bue Grasso (“the Fair of the Fat Ox”). Introducing an unexampled holiday dining tradition to Chicago, Chef/Owner Cameron Grant and Owner Aldo Zaninotto offer guests with a rare, authentic meal of Bollito Misto, an Italian stew of Piemontese beef.
La Fiera del Bue Grasso, a longstanding Piemonte holiday festival, celebrates Piedmont’s Fasson Oxes with a parade, best of show competition and auction. The fair promotes the Piemontese breed of cattle, encouraging attendees to purchase beef of bonafide “fat oxes.” The festival concludes with the anticipated meal of Bollito Misto, a Northern Italian stew comprised of seven types of meat.
For $50, guests are transported to Piemonte enjoying Chef Cameron’s enthusiastic tribute to the holiday, savoring the Bollito Misto with flavorful side sauces and more:
Bagna Cauda (Roasted red peppers and green onion)
Bollito Misto (Piemontese cheeks & brisket, cotechino, whole chicken, tongue, shank, red wine vinegar, mirepoix, herbs and broth. Served with boiled potatoes, zucchini and carrots)
Sauces: House Mustard, Salsa Rossa, Salsa Verde, Horseradish chutney
Panna Cotta (Nebbiolo reduction)
This season, Chicagoans create a new holiday tradition with Osteria Langhe, enjoying the rich Bollito Misto menu with refreshing Piemonte wine varietals.
Reservations are available by calling (773) 661-1582. When reserving, guests should clarify they’ll be dining for the Bollito Misto menu.
