Nacional 27 and Tallboy Taco are all set to celebrate Carnival. From Tuesday, February 17 to Saturday, February 21, the River North restaurants (both housed at 325 West Huron) will host a bevy of fun functions that range from cocktails and classes to dining and dancing. Each Carnival event is outlined below by date.
Fat Tuesday, February 17: Hurricanes and All-You-Can-Eat-Taco Bar
Fuel your "Fat Tuesday" appetite at Tallboy Taco on Tuesday, February 17 with an all-you-can-eat taco bar from 4-10 p.m. ($15 per person).Chef Chico Vilchez's savory selections include chimichurri chicken, beef tenderloin and pastor, served with house made tortillas, salsa cruda,tomatillo salsa, queso, rice and beans. Be sure to sip Hurricane cocktails, featured for $5 and available all day.
Wednesday, February 18: Complimentary Samba Dance Lessons
Can't make it to Rio de Janerio this year? Celebrate in the heart of River North instead! On Wednesday, February 18, dance coordinator Rickey Copley-Spivey
will lead complimentary Samba dance lessonsstarting at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, February 19: Hurricane Cocktail Class
Nacional 27's Beverage Manager Elyse Fuller will hold a Hurricane cocktail class in the lounge on February 19 from 6-8 p.m. The participation fee of $27 per person includes cocktail sampling, light tapas and recipe cards to take home. To sign up for the class, visit N27Chicago.com.
Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21: Brazilian Dance Show
Nacional 27's dance floor will heat up with live performances by local Brazilian dancers on February 20 and 21 beginning at 10:45 p.m. "Club N27" will remain open for Latin drinks and dancing until 2 a.m. on Friday and 3 a.m. on Saturday.
