Explained: Carmine's Chicago Opens New Second-Floor Terrace and Expands Daytime Dining with New Brunch and Lunch Service
Carmine's Chicago is expanding its Gold Coast presence just in time for patio season with the debut of its second-floor terrace, now open above Rush Street.
The approximately 1,200-square-foot terrace accommodates up to 125 guests and offers an elevated setting for classic Italian dishes, cocktails and people-watching. The patio builds on Carmine's recent return to the Gold Coast, where the restaurant reopened earlier this year in a reimagined space above Rush Street.
The new terrace offers guests a destination for everything from weekday business lunches and leisurely weekend brunches to afternoon cocktails and celebratory dinners under the city lights.
Coinciding with the patio debut, Carmine's Chicago has expanded its daytime dining offerings with the launch of weekday lunch service Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and weekend brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can enjoy the restaurant's signature Italian specialties, salads and pastas throughout the day, alongside a new brunch menu that blends classic morning favorites with Italian-inspired dishes.
Weekend brunch guests can enjoy dishes including Classic Eggs Benedict, Smoked Salmon Benedict, Colossal Crab Cake Benedict, French Toast made with challah bread, Nutella Crepes with mixed berries, Belgium Waffles topped with caramelized banana and a selection of house-made frittatas including the Tuscan Frittata with red peppers, asparagus, mushrooms and goat cheese. For heartier fare, the menu also features Wagyu Steak & Eggs, Frittatas, a Smoked Salmon Platter and fresh fruit plates. During weekday lunch service, guests can enjoy Carmine's signature salads, house-made pastas, Italian specialties and Rosebud favorites in a relaxed setting overlooking Mariano Park.
"With the opening of our terrace and the expansion of our daytime dining offerings, we're creating new ways for guests to experience Carmine's throughout the day," said Alex Dana, founder and president of Rosebud Restaurants. "Whether it's a weekday lunch meeting, weekend brunch overlooking Mariano Park, afternoon cocktails with friends or dinner on a summer evening, we're excited to continue building on Carmine's legacy in the Gold Coast."
The second-floor terrace joins Carmine's expansive new home, which features a main dining room, private dining space and views overlooking Rush Street and Mariano Park. Guests can enjoy the restaurant's signature menu of Rosebud classics, house-made pastas, premium steaks and Italian specialties throughout the restaurant, including on the terrace.
