Located at the new 320 South Canal building in Chicago, Canal Street Eatery & Market and Afterbar will bring a dining option to the West Loop Gate neighborhood with a range of food & beverage choices. The latest project from Spearhead Hospitality (The Robey, Chikatana, Getaway Hostel), the Italian-inspired restaurant and wine bar, coffee and pastry counter, gourmet retail market, and classic cocktail bar surrounded by The Park at 320, will offer coffee, lunch, dinner, and drinks on Canal Street corridor with over 11,000 square feet. The building, Co-Developed by Riverside and Convexity Properties and designed by Goettsch Partners, is connected to Union Station via pedway, offering direct access to the Metra, Amtrak, and Loop Link CTA bus lines.

Canal Street Eatery’s Executive Chef Forster Sorensen, and Chef de Cuisine Ross Sundberg, collaborate to create an Italian-inspired menu with handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas, salads, and more. Fresh pastas are served with a range of traditional sauce preparations such as Puttanesca, San Marzano, and brown butter-tomato gravy while Neapolitan-style pizzas are baked to order in the wood-fired oven. The menu also serves up renditions of Italian classics such as the Deconstructed Eggplant ParmesanRicotta Gnocchi, and Braised Beef Agnolotti. Laine Peterson curates a wine list, highlighting Italian wines from the coastal shores of Liguria to the reds from the inland region of Piedmont. Peeking out from its second floor perch, the restaurant has a private dining room that seats twelve upstairs, as well as a full catering menu.

The Canal Street Market, accessible via the north entrance of the 320 South Canal building or the southern entrance via The Park at 320, features a “high-end” deli, specialty coffee and pastry counter, and gourmet retail market.

With a range of customizable sandwiches, the menu includes sandwiches such as the Crispy Eggplant Veggie with hummus, arugula, and sprouts and Traditional Ham & Cheese with Neusky’s Black Forest Ham, Hook’s aged cheddar, and grain mustard dijonnaise, Coppa and The Goat, as well as 11 more. Salads include a Green Goddess Chopped Chicken and Garlic Strawberry Essence, also, as well as 11 others. Seasonally curated picnic baskets or retail products such as bottled cocktails, imported sodas are ready to pick-up for an outdoor meal or a patio lunch moving into the summer season.

The coffee and pastry counter, managed by Stevie Conway (Foxtrot and Champion Coffee) serves house made everything by Pastry Chef Zachary Dawson. From Meyer Lemon Sugar and Funfetti cookies to Saigon cinnamon rolls and scones, the offerings also include a selection of fresh breads such as Demi French baguettes, brioche rolls, sourdough, and 9-grain seeded whole wheat. The local coffee program showcases female-owned roaster Brewpoint and Hexe Coffee Co. with house made syrups available for coffees and fresh lemonade.

Afterbar, the cocktail bar adjacent to the garden and patio, offers a menu of classic cocktails, wines selected by Peterson, and beers. In addition to full bar seating, Afterbar offers seating for 42 on the patio. The Park at 320 is just south of Canal Street Market and Eatery, offering the largest garden in the neighborhood and patio seating for guests.
